Waushara Country Club Challenge
Of the three nines at Waushara the Bridges and Lake View are my favorites. The Westwoods are my least favorites especially if they are the starting holes. The first two holes are fairly difficult especially for first time players. Fairways are semi tight and many are heavily wooded. many of the holes provide spectacular views of the course and surrounding area. many of the fairways provide the challenge of uneven lies and undulating greens. I have played this course every year during my annual vacation to Pleasant Lake in Coloma.
Great golf but where was the service?
We had a round pre-4th on a sunny Saturday early afternoon. The golf was great and the course was in excellent condition, however, we only saw the beverage cart 1 time in an entire 18 hole round. Not the worst thing in the world but on such a nice day we were looking to enjoy a beverage while playing. We noticed a few others possibly being over served and also noticed the cart attendant in the club house when we finished the round doing other things. This is a nice course and good value for money so I will continue to golf here but I hope that the customer service on course can improve so that all customers can enjoy their day not just a few.
interesting course
Played all 27 in a group of 12. The course was in fabulous condition, both the fairways and greens were lush, trimmed perfectly and consistent. The course has a nice variety of open and tight holes, a few might be considered a bit "quirky" but are fun to play. Staff was very attentive and beverage cart service was excellent. Beer prices were very reasonable. Pace of play was excellent. Overall this course exceeded our expectations and was thoroughly enjoyable.
Nice course with great specials
Overall experience was very good just wish the greens could have been a little faster. Lots of opportunities for birdies, but need to keep ball in fairway. We all enjoyed the round with very little waiting
Waushara
I think this is one of the nicest courses in the area and a great deal for the all you can golf after 3
Beautiful course
Beautiful day for fall golf. We had to wait on almost hole on the Lakeview 9 due to how many people were golfing...but overall it was great to be out golfing. A few of the greens didn't have the leaves blown off - but it's that time of year.
very entertaining course
front was pretty open and the back got a liitle tight on a few holes causing my competive partners to cry because they can't control their drivers. I enjoyed the challenge and hit 3 wood. Scenery was excellent and the course was in very good shape. I definitly will return
Great views, interesting holes.
Course was in very nice condition, with the fairways well maintained. The rough was a little long for finding your ball at times. We played the lakeview and the westwood courses. (Waushara has three 9 hole courses) The #7 on the westwood was a beautiful downhill par 3 to an island green (very nice). The ladies thought the course was a little long for the novice lady golfer.
Had a great time, plan to play the bridges course
next time.
Beu-ti-ful Course
Very nice course! We will travel back (about 53 minutes) to golf it again.
Best of the 3-Nines at Waushara
Very challenging and interesting holes. Several holes require very precise tee shot placement. Need to stay right on #1 and need to place your tee shot on # 2 in the center before the steep drop off in order to have a shot at reaching the green in 2. Dome on green # 8 can make holding the green and putting an adventure. Nine makes excellent use of the topography.
Good value for the money
Challenging, but forgiving course. View of the lake from 5 & 6 is great. Friendly staff, keeps the course in very good shape.
Great course & staff
With 27 holes you a couple great options and variety of holes. Course is maintained well. Staff is great, friendly and helpful.
Only if it's cheap
The greens are super inconsistent. The first 3 holes and greens on the westwood course are old and beat up. The holes are so ridiculously tight you can't hit it anywhere left or right or you're in the woods. They might be 20yards wide from forest to forest on each side. The yardage markers are not even close to correct. We found this out after using lasers on multiple holes.
I won't go back unless its free.
Nice course!
We play Waushara Country Club often. It’s a very good course for the money. Challenging but forgiving. Have some real interesting holes. Well maintained, friendly staff.
it was a good time, would play again, good value for the money
it was a good time , would play again, good value for the money
A nice course.
I was playing alone, there were two, two-somes that wouldn't let me play through, so I had to wait on every shot. They were what appeared to be beginners. It was annoying waiting for them to hit the ball so many times, and search for their balls. There was no ranger out there. That was the disappointing thing about Waushara country club.
Good variety of holes with elevation changes, doglegs and lakes.
The three nines are all different in character. A fair amount of water comes into play on the Bridges and some tight fairways are the highlights of the Westwoods. The course was in decent shape, but not what I would call pristine. It is a fun course to play for the average golfer. Friendly staff.
The course has variety and although it is not lengthy, it has challenge with assortments of bunkers, water hazzards, and doglegs with tight tree-line
I liked the course because it offered challenge and variety in the hole layouts. It is not a lengthy layout, but it has some tight fairways and hazards that make the golfer have to use strategy and place shots correctly or suffer loss of strokes. The course was groomed very well. The major issue I had was the many sloped/undulating greens. There were not many pins in flat spots and balls would roll fast.
Fun course and friendly people
The best part of this course is the interesting mixture of holes. I played the lake view and the bridges nines. The course is certainly not overly long, and it is well maintained. After the first three holes on lake view, there are lots of trees, water, hills and bridges. Good fun.
