Classic Golf Course at Otsego Club
About
The Otsego Club offers two 18-hole championship golf courses, the Classic and the Tribute. The courses share a beautiful landscape abundant with water, trees, and wildlife but each course offers different challenges. Built in 1939, the Classic Course, as its name would imply, has a traditional layout that is straightforward with no hidden tricks or hazards. The golf course sprawls across scenic parkland that overlooks the nearby Sturgeon River Valley. Unlike some of the long and more demanding golf courses in the Gaylord area, the Classic Course plays a mild but enjoyable 6,267 yards from the back tees. The greens are fast and the player-friendly fairways are wide and welcoming to beginners. The course finishes with its signature hole, a par 4 where golfers will be hitting from one ski slope to another.

Great Fathers Day Course!
Grabbed a tee-time for 18 holes at 10:20AM. Pretty accurate timing. Despite what I read here, the pace was fine. Never felt rushed or slow. Every green was in great shape. Would rather have played the Tribute, but for half the price, this was well worth it!
Good time, despite the rain and wind
Great track.... staff were super friendly and helpful. We stopped in as we arrived in town earlier than expected, and was greeted promptly and sent out to play. The forward tees were a great treat for my wife (maybe too far), but she enjoyed the ease of jumping out of a car after 6 hours, and being able to play. I will return, nice layout.
Slow and poor conditions
Pace of play was atrocious! My friend and I (twosome) took 6hrs fue to a very slow foursome ahead who wouldn't let anyone play through. There was no ranger in sight to help with the situation, and one lady behind us said it wouldn't matter if we called because no one would do anything (she used to work there). The "greens" were like torched concrete. They were every shade of brown and dead and hard as granite. So were most of the tee boxes and the fairways were notnso great. Food at the turn was non existent in the clubhouse. We tried to get some brats, none, hot dogs...they only had 2 buns left (both were stale and as hard as the greens). The price was robbery at $55 per player for this dump. First and last time playing there.
Slow with no ranger
Nice layout; decent course for the money but pace of play was extremely slow with no ranger on the course.
Great course
Fairways and greens in very good condition for this early in the year.
A nice day of golf
Played 18 holes in 3 hours. For October, the courses is in very good condition. The greens had been aerated but putting was only slightly affected. The speed on the greens were faster than I regularly play on but enjoyable. If I get up to Gaylord, I will definitely play the course again.
Had a good time during tough conditions
We played on October 7th during a cold North wind with on & off flurries. However, the fall colors were on display and the fairways and greens where still in very nice shape. Overall the course was a real value using the Hot Deals tee time.
Challenging and enjoyable
Played the Classic, Great condition, on par with the higher priced courses in the area.
Great course
Wonderful course. Large open fairways yet still providing challenges. Friendly staff. Great burgers and beers after.
Play was so slow I wanted to quit at 11 but played 3 ,0re holes finally could not take the pace of play and went home. Course worn out needs work.
Don’t waste your money
Course not being well maintained. Even the flags were in shreds. No indication if the hole was in front or rear. Not worth the money or the time when there are so many nice corses in the area.
Pleasant surprise
Course was in very good shape considering the drought conditions locally. Greens were excellent, smooth and true putting. Played with a couple on vacation in 3.5 hours. Classic design of tree lined fairways and small greens was very enjoyable. Price after using one of my rewards was only $20.26. Great bargain. Will definitely play again.
Slowww
On 2nd hole caught up to an gentlemen and his young son, they let me play through on 3rd,seeing as I was solo. After that it was a 10 minute wait on every tee box. Think they need a ranger to enforce pace of play.
