Broad Stripes Golf & Social Club at Stonecrest

Read recent reviews for this course, took advantage of special Hot Deal Savings to try for the first time. So glad I did! I'm guessing that the prior negative reviews took place before overseeding. Anyone who posted a negative review needs to go back!!! Very small defects on some green, which rolled faster than I was expecting, given the apparent previous overseeding. Nice fairways and manageable rough. I greatly appreciated the course management skills required to bring such fine delineation of the fairways with the deeper green.

Suggestions: 1) rakes for the bunkers. I unsure as to why there aren't any rakes. At the very least, perhaps some green side bunker rakes.

2) Pro Shop sign from the parking lot. 3) 1st Tee signs with arrow. 4) Cart Return signs with arrow.

There were many many private carts in the general vicinity of the clubhouse and obviously anyone who resides there knows where to go. But it's a little confusing for a first timer.

I have yet to golf at any course where absolutely everything is perfect in every aspect, but I give a solid 4 1/2 Stars for this course. Loved the layout, elevation changes, blind shots and the opportunity to really engage in course strategy.

And, they are having a Grand Reoping event on Monday, Jan. 10th; $25.00 for 18 holes with a cart.

The course is in great condition, the best I've seen it in years. The only issue is no rakes, hard to hit out of the sand traps with foot prints.

I have played this course in the past several years ago and decided to try it again as it was a fairly decent course in the past. Got there early and went to the practice green which was over grown and literally half dead where not over grown. Hoped that the course was in better condition but found that all greens were severely damaged with at least 20% of the surface damaged. No rakes in sand traps and the fairways ok but not great.

I would not suggest this course as the conditions of play didn't match their pricing and you can find significantly better course conditions at the same price point

FIRST TIME PLAYING THIS COURSE AND RAIN WAS NOT IN THE FORECAST BUT AFTER A GOOD RAINSHOWER ON FRONT NINE WIFE AND I WERE NOT DRESSED FOR THE RAIN AND COLD TEMPS TO FOLLOW AND ASKED THE STARTER FOR A NINE HOLE RAINCHECK AND HIS REMARK WAS THAT THERE IS NO LIGHTNING IN THE AREA SO A RAIN CHACK WAS NOT ALLOWED? FINE WAY TO SELL THE GOLF COURSE FOR FUTURE REFERRALS!

I last played this course in March and the fairways and greens were pretty burned out. Today, they were green and growing so , I hope, that the course is making a comeback.

Within the last three years, this course has made an enormous improvement From tee boxes, through fairways to the greens. It is now a pleasant and pleasurable round of golf you can count on.

The course was closed for several weeks for reseeding and has improved a lot. They moved the women's t box on hole 14 which I'm not sure why because now the yardage is off on the score card.

Haven't played the course since June. Was pleasantly surprised. The greens and tee boxes were in very good condition. They over seeded them so should get better.

At $32.00 a round you can find many courses more deserving of your money. It’s a shame because the layout and club house are good. Greens were infested with weeds (crab grass?) which often redirected puts. That’s not hyperbole. Some greens had sections of soil plowed with seed. The fairways were decent though would benefit with an application of herbicide.

This course was recommended by a staff member at Orange Blossom in The Villages. Should have done some homework as it was not in the same league as Eagle Ridge as he suggested. Our bad.

For the foreseeable future I will not play this track.

Please do better.

The back nine holes were torture but the views on the course were stunning.

GolfNow cancelled my res at Stonecrest without ever notifying me. Apparently, Stonecrest screwed up by not notifying you in time that Tues was ladies' Day and that no men were allowed on the course while the ladies were playing. Very rude to cancel my tee time without telling me.

played here for the first time today. staff was friendly and the starter let me out (single) early before a group of 12 teed off. course was in good enough shape with not much difference between fairways and rough. painted fairways on back 9 made holes look somewhat cleaner. however, the greens need a lot of work.

played 18 as a twosome in just over 3 hours (4some last 3 holes taking our time) - so this course can easily be done in less than 3 hours. some nice holes with doglegs , water views and elevation changes (a few blind) - hit your fairways with decent distance and you'll have birdie opportunities the entire round

This course has a excellent layout. Just needs better green conditions. The greens have some bare spots and weeds on them.

Very slow play, sailed through the front 9 and then had 4 groups in front of us on the back. Have no idea where they came from. One group of 4 all had their own cart (which I thought wasn't allowed). We were only a twosome but had to wait at least 15 minutes on each hole.
