Lake Forest
The course was in excellent condition with the exception of the greens. They were a touch on the shaggy side but still rolled well and true. I was just trying to survive the heat as there was a heat advisory in effect. It was pretty brutal. Still in all, the course is in the best shape I've ever seen it.
Lake forest
Fairways and greens good shape, tee boxes need much work
" A True LINKS Pleasure "
Excellent condition this LINKS Course provides, with full service facility , range ,pro shop , dining itc., and a Very nice friendly staff. A true "out" then "in" links course with nice greens and tree lined , rolling fairways
HINT(S): SEE PICS, layup to top of first hill on #1 tee shot, long hitters won't have any trouble getting home in 2 from there. Use Enough club on the par 3's, you don't want the bottom of the hill up and down. Don't try Short-cuts, keep the ball in front of you first few times playing.
"Two thumbs-up to management" course was in same great shape last year at this time !
Good value
My partner and I always have fun golfing at Lake Forest. The staff is always friendly and the course was in good condition. Course is a good value for the price.
Overall the course was laid out well but greens could use some attention.
The course had many elevation changes and some very interesting holes. Required fairly accurate drives to score well. The greens were not in the best of shape and could use some attention. Overall a good course for the money.
HAD TO WAIT ON EVERY HOLE. SIX PLAYERS ON EVERY HOLE
Greens were not the greatiest. The only hole we enjoyed was on the back 9 par 3.May have been on 16 or 17. I did not keep the card like we always do.
Good to great value for the dollar.
Excellent bargain for the money. Fairways are well maintained with some challenging tight drives. Plenty of trees make placement in the fairways critical. Greens are not perfect, but puttable. Course was not over crowded and slow players seem willing to "let you play through" a bonus.
Who would want to be a member here?
Although the folks in the clubhouse were very friendly and accommodating, the starter and members were very rude. In fact, some members told us "you yankees need to go back where you came from, this is our course, we play it 52 weeks a year" This conversation took place from a 'fivesome' behind us when we mentioned the course was somewhat wet after the recent rain. We now know why this course went from private to public...who would want to be a member?
Great layout with some really great holes
The pace of play was great for the first 15 holes. Then I caught a five-some that I was told tees off every Saturday at 10:30. This means they teed off over two hours before me and I caught them on #15 - way too slow. The sad part is they would not let me play through even though it clearly states that they should on the score card. Its obvious the staff lets them get away with this. They should not allow five-somes every, especially on the weekend. But, if they do they should be instructed to let faster player through. It took me 90 minutes to play the first 15 holes and almost an hour to play the last three.
