Good course poorly cared for.
Two of three nines are in poor shape. It is understandable that the course would be dry with the recent draught. But the greens should be getting watered......they aren't, and thus have many burn spots and totally dead spots. It isn't acceptable that the traps are full of leaves/branches and appear to not have been raked for many days. The ball cleaners had no water or soap on any hole. Generally poor maintenance all around.
No improvement
Fairways pathetically thin considering helpful weather conditions the last couple months - apparently no water available. Good layout, shame that course continues to suffer maintenance issues. Greens "ok", bare in places.
What happened to timbercreek
Played this course several yrs ago and it was fantastic. Now looks like no maintenance done since then. Traps worst I've seen in a while. Very little sand mostly dirt in em. Won't be driving over from Pensacola to play this course again.
First time
I enjoyed the round and thought the course was good. The conditions weren't bad but occasional bad tee box or rocks in sand traps.
Ownership needs to do some work on the course.
The course design and layout is very good. Challenge and fun along with an exceptionally friendly and courageous staff begs the question why more attention isn't paid to the driving range and grounds.
The greens were not kept up and there was nothing but sand on the driving range to hit from. The course is lined with absolutely beautiful homes with manicured lawns and yet, the course seems out of place because of the lack of attention to the fairways and associated landscape. This course should be beautiful! And yet the bunkers were hard with clay like material and the tee boxes were littered with broken tees. We picked up broken bottles from the fairway because there is no Ranger to manage play or monitor players.
We were behind an extremely slow foursome that caused three groups of players to cut in front of us.
The clubhouse was extremely nice and the good was fantastic! Our bartender was wonderful and the beverage card lady was very kind.
Whoever is managing this course needs to open up his/her wallet and save this golf course from disrepair. We paid $100 for the two of us and it was a "hot deal". We want to come back and would even consider a membership. However, the course needs more TLC. It's such a great course with wonderful potential.
What is going on with this place??
Fairly new to the area, live in TC. From what I’ve heard this used to be one of the nicest courses around.. with that being said, it’s almost unplayable. Greens get smaller every week, course hasn’t had water in months, it gets worse every week. Don’t really understand what’s going on.
Can’t hit range balls because there hasn’t been grass on range in over 6 months. SAD
Greens were fine!
Fairways a mess, need to apply water. Bunkers are dirt, need to install and maintain sand! Won’t be going back. To many other comparably priced golf courses in Lower Alabama in much better shape.
Wow! Unbelievably Bad.
I haven’t played this course in a while and I won’t be returning anytime soon. It is in the worst shape I’ve seen in the past 10 years.
What happened to Timbercreek?
This used to be an amazing course. Unfortunately nothing being reinvested in the course. Carts are embarrassing (ours held together with rope- not kidding) Tee boxes so hard and bare, couldn't pound in a tee with a hammer. No grass on rock hard faraways, bunkers were laughable, and the greens contine to shrink into oblivion. It is sad. Won't be open much longer!
Needs tremendous help!
Course could be great but is getting worse every time I go back. Carts are frequently breaking down, driving range balls are a joke and the repairs seem to be adding up but none are finished. Just today there was a broken water pump, our cart broke and dangerous cart paths. Ownership should be ashamed charging top dollar for such a poor product/experience.
No rain
Green were good fairways very dry and need water badly
Improvements needed
Needs range markers along the fairway and takes for all the sand pits.
No rain for weeks and it showed on the course. Bone dry. It was a big effort to get the tee into the ground (broke several). One green looked like a minefield. Bunkers were a joke, most of them hard as a rock.
Johnny
Greens were much improved since my last round 4 months ago. Fairways were very dry and brown. A few holes had sections of grind that were caved in but weren’t marked ground under repair. Golf carts needed a good cleaning as they looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Never saw a cart girl the entire round. Range balls looked they they belonged on a goat ranch.
It’s a same as this could be a 5 star course with a minor investment by the owner.
Windy but enjoyable
I played in short time with minimal traffic on the course. Some of the tee boxes are still very hard since the last time I played here and I had to move in front of the tee markers to ground a tee. Some (fewer) greens were burned but most were manageable. Golf cart was the worst I've ever used, with minimal set-brake and gas motor dialed back it would barely move up the hills on the cart path. Lets hope that cart was an outlier to the norm. But it was a beautiful day to drive slow....
