Johnny
Greens were much improved since my last round 4 months ago. Fairways were very dry and brown. A few holes had sections of grind that were caved in but weren’t marked ground under repair. Golf carts needed a good cleaning as they looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Never saw a cart girl the entire round. Range balls looked they they belonged on a goat ranch.
It’s a same as this could be a 5 star course with a minor investment by the owner.
Windy but enjoyable
I played in short time with minimal traffic on the course. Some of the tee boxes are still very hard since the last time I played here and I had to move in front of the tee markers to ground a tee. Some (fewer) greens were burned but most were manageable. Golf cart was the worst I've ever used, with minimal set-brake and gas motor dialed back it would barely move up the hills on the cart path. Lets hope that cart was an outlier to the norm. But it was a beautiful day to drive slow....
POORLY MAINTAINED
Haven't played this golf coarse in sometime.
Was well maintained at that time.
What a night and day differance now.
In desperate need of improvement
Course is in terrible shape. The greens are marginal and they are the best part of the course. Could be a great course but needs significant investment to fix issues.
Work in progress
Traps, hard pan with little sand . Greens need work, bare in places. Fairways dried out.
Very sad to see this course in awful shape :(
Haven’t played here since before covid but I have never seen the course in such rough shape. Tees, fairways and greens were just awful. Bunkers are just red clay and rocks. Hardly any sand at all. Matter of fact, I’ve never seen this course less than tip top in all the years I’ve played it but this was absolutely in disrepair to say the least. It was probably one of the best courses around southern Alabama and it was just shocking to see it in this condition. I was told the refreshment/snack cart person called in the day I played which was a little annoying considering they don’t let you bring outside food/beverages in and it was definitely hot. The vending machine by dogwood’s bathroom also didn’t work. Luckily I didn’t pay much since I used GolfNow but it almost wasn’t worth continuing after 9 holes. Sad. Just sad. I hope the owners realize what this place should be and could be again. Please bring this course back to life people!! Please!!
A little dry
The layout was fun. The course was a little dried out, but for the time of year that probably how it is. Tee boxes again, very dry and needed some work.
Rough conditions
Poor condition for time of year. Fairways very dry in places, greens ok bt inconsistent.
Dog Track
I can’t believe they charge what they do for this course, definitely not worth the money.
Wet, wet wet
The course was undesirable to play due to wetness.
Mother nature.
Very wet, sand traps hard with little sand and full of weeds
Good challenging course
Staff was super friendly and willing to help you no matter what! Cart girl was hilarious and very attentive!
Pine/Magnolia
We did not play the Dogwood 9...recent rains left the course very soggy with standing water in all bunkers and a lot of fairways even! Upheaval with cart path concrete in numerous areas was very hazardous-with multiple holes of 2'-3'!! The course would actually be really nice w/ good drainage and under better conditions...We were told that Pine 9 is the easiest & Magnolia 9 is the most difficult (very narrow with a lot of changes in elevation)....
Always a good round of golf at this course. Hole 8 on Dogwood from the blue tees or better is a monster for me.
