Lake Forest
As always the course is fun to play. Greens are typical for this time of year.
My only comment is the course of play. Not sure if the clubhouse approved or not, but we had at least 3 five-somes playing in front of us. They weren’t letting anyone through even when we were stacking groups on the tee box behind them. We jumped two holes and ended up playing behind, what may have been the first group. One of them asked us to not pick up the tee on the green that they were using to mark closest to the pin, so obviously they were all playing together. They weren’t playing best-ball or scramble and really they were in no hurry for any of their shots.
We stayed behind them for at least 3-4 holes and ilon the 17th tee, after their tee off, they asked us if we wanted to play through.

A lot of potential
Staff was great. Course layout is solid, but I’ve seen fairways that roll better than their greens. Wish they would put the time and effort into the greens. We all agreed that if you hit the green it’s auto 2 putt because you couldn’t tell which way the ball was going to come off.

Spur of moment
Course had nice layout. Older course . First few greens loaded with Poana grass but the rest were fine. Could be a gem with a little more money flow.

Crabgrass greens. Need I say more.
Greens were in worse shape than the last time I played the course in November. Hard to get a true roll with crabgrass tufts sprinkling the surface.

Loved the ups and downs of the course through a nice neighborhood.
Conditions need a little work but I hear there’s a new superintendent working at it.

Heavy poana grass on side me greens, fairways filling in but inconsistent. Better than when last played a year ago.

Fantastic time and even better views
The fact that this course is sub $40 is astounding. I live around Dallas, and almost all of our munis are more expensive and not as nice conditions. And the views throughout the round were just simply amazing. Anytime I pass through I’ll make sure to swing by again!
