Azalea is Mobile's course
I love this course. Not too difficult and very well kept. Open fairways with lots of room for error but still makes for a challenging short game. Quick greens are the difference too. Im not a super serious golfer but this is a great place to both improve but also enjoy a nice round. This is a perfect 5/7
Take 3 hours to finish front 9!
They sent out 8 groups of twosome, the first group hold everybody up, no marshall. we end up played front 9 twice.
Course was once a regular stop for the PGA Tour and hosted the "Mobile Sertoma Open" one which was won by Arnold Palmer !!!
We waited every shot from the third through the eighteenth holes while following a foursome when there were three open holes in front of them.
Hot good deal
Coarse is still rough in the fairways not in great shape greens were very good but hotdeal was a good value
April Friday
Outstanding course I will recommend to friends and family very challenging and staff outstanding played from the whites tee's and the course was still long
Azalea City playing firm and fast
Azalea City is a hardscrabble muni that is currently playing like a West Texas track, thanks to a drought.
This parkland course is somewhat narrow thanks to tree-lined fairways. However, the dry conditions that make 100-yard rollouts with driver off the tee, make the fairways seem narrower. Drives that seem perfectly placed can roll through the fairway.
Fairways are extremely thin.
The greens are small and many are pitched severely from back to front, making remaining below the hole on approach shots an absolute must. Greens rolling good.
Be aware if you are playing from or near the tree line... there are a lot of exposed tree roots and some just below the surface so be cognizant of playing from these areas to avoid injury.
Bunkers were pretty solid and consistent.
Yardage guide for sale in the clubhouse ($7) is worth it, especially for first-timers. You cannot see small ponds that come into play on both par 5s on the back on approach.
The driving range here is top notch with a flat tee and a wide berth. Good short game areas as well.
decent course for the golfnow hot deal price
decent course. ton of people playing. slowed down on the back 9. had to wait 10 minutes before every tee shot. green was sanded and fast. fairway was dry and barely had grass. bunkers was in great shape though. only 2 holes with water hazard. not a very hard course i just played bad.
Good day for golf
The course was in good shape and the pace of play was great. Overall a very enjoyable day of golf.
Azalea City, Very nice
The weather in this area has been wet for some time, most of the courses I played on this trip have been more like playing on swamp land, but not at Azalea City GC, the base on most holes is sandy and drains very well. In about three to four weeks it will be very green. Staff was friendly. Practice areas are nice (many and all well laid out).
I recommend this course
It not a course that you will loose many golf balls on as the area off the hole are cleared and make it easy to find the wayward shot.
drains very well
It had been wet for a couple days. The course was wet but not muddy at all. It must drain very well. Definitely a good choice during "bad" weather.
Winter + Rain conditions
The coarse fairways are soft and tee boxes in just mediocre with winter rainstorms and not much chance to recover. However the Greens are in very good condition considering everything else.
Nice layout
The course is layed out nicely. Long course. The fairways and ruffs a little thin but locals say pretty normal for this time of yr greens in good condition except for a few spots. Still a nice course that i would recommend to other players
Azalea city golf course
Had an enjoyable day of golf. Course was in good shape.
Excellent greens.
After heavy rain the previous day, the course was fairly dry. The green were in excellent shape.
Nice Muni
Last time we did Springhill when I was in town, but decide to try the City Course. Greens were rolling nice and the course was in decent shape for December. Lots of recent rain cause mud, but that’s out of anyone’s control. All bunkers were ranked and had soft sand. Would definitely be back to play again.
Fast greens today
Great shApe did not finish ran into some guys on the last 2 holes that where very loud and possible drunk
