Decent course.. Front nine is better than the back.. The course needs more grass. The rack rate is somewhere around $50.00. It is a $35.00 golf course at most.

Average golf course. Grass will be better in a few months. Rack rate tie the course is way overpriced.

Unable To Play Due To Misinformation

This course is located on an army base. I was not forewarned that I would need a special recreational pass to actually get to the course (nothing on the website or the golf app I used explained this). And apparently the office that does these requests are only open on the weekdays. You have to go through in my opinion way too much trouble just to play on what's considered a " public course". We made a long trip for absolutely nothing and I do not recommend this course unless you like to be probed for a special access badge. Also, gate guards are very combative, especially if you are not familiar with the area.

Not a bad public course

While this course has two 18-hole tracks and is located on Redstone Arsenal, it is open to the public. The course is maintained as well as an affordable public course can be. The course design is fun, but the greens and bunkers need some attention. Overall, fun and affordable to play.

Contrary to popular belief.. this is not truly a public golf course. It's on an army base therefore you have to obtain a special recreational pass just to get to the golf course. From My understanding you cannot get this pass unless it's during the weekdays. Needless to say I made a trip for nothing and was not warned about said pass. I'm not from the area so I had no way of knowing this.

Good Trek

We played the Warrior course because Patriot was closed. It's more of a links style layout which is fun on occasion. Greens were good speed....the fairways need spring/summer to come. It worth playing if you're in the area.

Course was in great condition for mid-February. The pro shop has an impressive selection and the staff are very friendly. This is my go to course when I want to get out and play.

The Golf Links are located at Redstone on the Army Base in Huntsville, AL. They have two 18 hole golf courses.

Many retired military golfers play there. It is excellent for those who wish to walk the courses.

I played PATRIOT golf course, This has the newer 9 holes and has hills. The new 9 reminds me of Links type British golf.

It has high weeds, up to 3 feet high so if you do not stay on the fairway, you have a lost ball.

Even on week ends it is not crowded because many civilians who do not have a RSA gate ID or pass

do not go there. (it is open to the public, so just show your drivers license to the guard and tell him you are playing the golf course and you get a pass for that day!) Has a fine restaurant, and alcohol is allowed.

When I play they set me up with 2 or 3 other golfers. Try it, I think you will love it!

First time in over 20 years

They’d aerated the greens with small holes the week before, but they rolled fairly well.

Patriot

Course is in pretty good condition considering the heat and drought. Greens are not to firm and will hold the ball. Starter is a great guy and was very friendly and helpful.

A Good Place to Golf

I play this course about once a month and it's a good alternative to some of the more expensive courses in the area. On most holes, if you can stay in the fairway and putt you can probably par, or come close to paring the course. The back nine gets a bit more challenging than the front, requiring more shaping of shots, and there are a few tricky greens. The fairways and greens are average at best, but it's rare that the grass gets too long. The bunkers always look like they could use some work and are usually filled with extremely hard sandy dirt.

The people in the pro-shop are usually helpful and friendly, and they have stocked it with a good number of accessories such as clothing, bags, shoes, etc., as well as Demo clubs. I've been fitted for clubs by the Pro's there and also bought several sets, drivers, and fairway metals.

There is a attached snack bar attached to the pro-shop that serves a variety of food, and cold beer on tap.

If anyone is seeking a good economical place to play, walking or riding, Redstone Links is a good place to be.

Sticker shock!

Played this coarse many times over the last 20 years. Course has never been in the greatest of shape. The coarse looks as good as i have ever seen it. Always played as a contractor working on the Arsenal and the price was reasonable. I paid $45 dollars here and that included cart No matter how this coarse looks or plays its not worth $45. Just recently the MWR/Arsenal are allowing the public to use the facilities here on Redstone. Charging the pubic more to play or use facilities that our tax dollars pay for is not the right formula. I will probably turn my access badge back in and move on.
