Thursday Thrill
My Son played a wonderful round, driving and chipping on point. Great day indeed!
Needs work
Layout good for short course. Fairways getting good. Greens in need of major TLC. Overall fun to play
Greens only mostly dead
Greens haven’t recovered from the winter yet, so putting can be frustrating. Chip it close!
Good value
Pretty good overall course. Got out there early in the morning and it was great. Not too many people. By 9am it was very busy. Only complaint I had was the groundskeeper seemed to be following right behind me in his lawn mower for about 4 holes which was distracting.
Great Public Course
Webb Memorial is a wonderful course considering it is maintained by the city/parish. The course was very wet, we did have about 6 inches of rain in the past couple of days. Greens were in really good shape considering .
Horrible Staff and awful course management
Completely overbooked course to the point where it took 45 minutes to play the first 2 holes. Went in and asked if I could get a rain check because of how overbooked the course was. The people worker there were nothing but rude and tried to tell me the course was just “fully booked” and not overbooked. I guess fully booked means you are 3 groups deep on each tee box! Ended up refusing me a rain check when it would have been in the benefit of everyone. Just cut my losses and left. Not worth waiting 15 minutes on every tee box to play a very below average muni.
A little cool and wet...
Good layout, the greens were ok for this time of year. Will play again soon.
Slow
I played this course while on vacation in Louisiana wanting to play a new course. It was a Holiday weekend so I knew it would be crowded but the pace of play was painfully slow. The course was in good shape except for a couple of tee boxes where the tees should have been moved. The layout of the course was fun just narrow in some places. The greens played pretty good but had a few bare spots. I would play this course again maybe during the summer.
Baton Rouge staple in great condition
Webb has been looking better than it has in a long time, even in winter. Greens have some patches needing work, but it’s a great course that feels fairly long and makes you use every club in your bag.
Go to BR course
I go here now that LSU Golf Course has become garbage. This course is all around nicer looking, playing, has better tee time management, as well as nicer staff. Is a great course for the price. Definitely play here if your in the Baton Rouge area.
Good Beginner Course
This course is great for beginners. The fairways aren't the widest, but the holes are usually side by side. So you're still hitting from the fairway, even though it may not be the correct one. Greens are pretty good for the most part.
