Solid municipal golf course
Golf course was in great condition for a municipal golf course.
Greens are finally coming around
The sand traps could use some more sand but the greens are finally coming around. The small camel back greens that are well protected by bunkers makes it a real challenge to get up and down when you miss a green. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The pro shop although small is well stocked and the prices are reasonable.
Don't bring your wife
To quote my pms riddled "better" half: there's too many dragonflies and it's too hot. Besides playing on Instagram and driving me everywhere besides where my ball landed, she played 1 hole hit sand and declared "done". I love paying double for a hormonal caddy with a feather foot and a Pinterest addiction.
So Webb, next time turn down the temperature and tell those dragonflies to buzz off. You're ruining a perfectly good game.
Greens are back
Right amount of temp, rain, and sun and the greens and fairways have grown in nicely. Greens are putting true only a few trouble spots on greens .Bunkers well maintained.
Really good course in the middle of town.
Good layout. Some very long fairways. Most greens pretty good. Very busy.
New amenities
Haven't been in a while and was pleasantly surprised at a few new things to do. New mini range was great. The staff was great. The greens were exceptional bit the fairways were like concrete. Hard to get under for wedges and irons.
I had a great time and enjoyed the pace and other golfers. Shall and already have recommended it to others.
Good Value For The Price
The course layout is great. The fairways are in as good of shape as I have ever seen them. The greens, however, are another story... they are horrendous! And, to make matters worse, the pin placements are right in the middle of the worse spots on the greens. If the pins would be placed in the better areas of the greens, it wouldn't be so bad. I can't understand why golf course superintendents don't understand this basic principle. All-in-all, I would play there again; especially, for the price.
Rene Caballero
Fairways were in pretty decent shape. Greens were bad. Holes haven’t been moved in a while. Just tough to putt on
Webb' greens
Course maintained well except for the greens no grass
Public Course-Worth your time for the money
This was my first time playing at Webb. I’ve heard mixed reviews. However I think the only fair thing to do is compare it to other municipal park courses. In this way, it compares very favorably. The course was well maintained and new trees had just been planted. There seems to be an effort to improve the facility, as they just put in a netted cage with about 6 bays. A driving range would be better, but this is a good alternative. There is also a chipping green. The course was not overly booked and it was a beautiful day, and I played around noon. It’s not as nice as any of the nicer courses in the BR area (Pelican Point, Greystone), but it’s more than adequate for the price.
I love this course. Greens were extremely fast with the harsh winter
that we have been through in this region. All in all, the course was in great shape considering the harsh winter. I totally like the new practice range with the nets...nothing like warming up before a round. I walked 18, will absolutely be back for sure. Keep up with the upgrades.....
Pro Shop Staff
I have been playing for 40 years at this course and I have never experience such un-professional staff service in the pro shop. I arrived at the golf course at 11:40 and went inside to check in for a 12:20 tee time. I was told I had to wait till 11:50 before I could check in. There was no other customers at that time and they made me stand there for 10 minutes, until 11:50, before I could check in. They told me that this was because of Golf Now. I book a lot of tee times through golf now and never been treated like this at any other courses.
The greens have no grass on them. With the weather we have had over the last few weeks in Baton Rouge there is no excuse.
Course is getting better and better!
I have been playing here for 2 years. Over the past year I have noticed course conditions getting better and better. The bunkers were raked and in better condition. The fairways are in good condition and the greens are being better maintained.
They now have a driving practice area. Its not a range, but an area protected by net and artificial turf. It's pretty nice.
Please keep up the good work,
