Golf Advisor: Top 25 Most Improved U.S. Golf Courses (2020 #4)
Reviews
Great time
All in all for the price you can’t beat this course. The Pines has a very friendly and helpful staff and owner.
Greens and fairways are looking good. Tee boxes have been improved. Pace of play was well kept.
Home Course
This course is close to home so I play it more than others. Course was in great shape. This is a nine hole course and on the weekends it can get very busy. Be prepared for a long round.
Tee time was 11:10 didn’t tee off until 11:31.. no driving range. The worst part is this “18 hole” course is on 9 holes using the same fairways and greens with slightly further/closer distances depending on which hole you’re on. Would’ve rated higher if we knew we were going to a 9 hole course.
First time playing The Pines at North Park
I arrived 20 mins early to the course before my 12:00 PM tee time. There were out of carts and they had to wait for the morning groups to return to get more. There were 3 guys before me waiting for carts as well. I finally was able to tee off arpund 12:45 PM and the pace of play was extremely slow because of the jam from everyone waiting for carts. The fairway greens were what you would expect for light roughs. I think there is new ownership and there isn't enough staff or funds to manage it properly. The only reason I would play it again is because its close to my house and it would also have to be a hot deal. I honestly would rather drive the extra 30 mins and play a better course
You get what you pay for
It is extremely cheap to play here. For that price, zero complaints.
