Wet day
To be fair this was a few days after the “hurricane” passed through leaving it wet. Cant mow the grass with the ground being so wet so not really judging that. Price was good for the conditions. This place is nice for price when not soaked.
The Goat Ranch
I started playing on this course when it was still called the denham springs country club, for the price you can’t beat it. If you want to go out and hit some balls and have a good time on a budget this is the place for you. Yea it might look like the grounds crew is a heard of goats maintaining this course but for $10-$20 it can’t be beat
Not a good course
It's a very basic nine-hole course with alternate tee boxes for the second nine, All straight ahead. Small, slow greens. Sand traps not draining. Tee boxes not in great shape. Would be a good course to learn on but not a good course. There are many munis in the area charging the same price and in better condition. Also when we were there, the golf carts all had damaged seats.
Decent course
Decent course for the money. It’s 9 greens but you can replay using different tee boxes for 18 holes. Nice little twist.
They have water available throughout the course to fill your bottles. No bathrooms on the course tho.
My biggest issue is we booked a 7 am tee time. Arrive at 6:50 to check in and be ready to play and there were no employees. The check in counter was locked and inaccessible. The employee finally showed up at 7:15 with no apologies or acknowledgment for being late. We did not get to start until 745.
New to the area:
Santa Maria-very nice and not too pricey
Webb-underrated. Really nice layout and good condition. Great for the money. Kinda crowded
LSU-underrated as well. Bermuda grass in fairways. Greens have bad spots but don’t affect play if you’re not too serious. Great for the money. Not crowded
Pines- won’t play it again. No effort on fairways or tees. Would be good if it was free.
Overbooked
This course stays extremely overbooked and there are no rules enforced. People ride all over the course and hit from wherever they want. There are tee times but no one watches. There is no pace of play at this course. I would not recommend this course to any serious golfer.
