Golf Advisor: Top 25 Most Improved U.S. Golf Courses (2020 #4)
Reviews
Very inexpensive, so must keep that in mind. Some tee boxes are mostly dirt, the ground is hard as a rock, greens not very good. Ground is hard as a rock. Great place to practice your drives (on the tee boxes with grass) your irons and chipping, forget serious putting.
Hidden Gem
Great 9 hole course with front and back nine tees. Great for a nice relaxing round of golf if you are looking to play super fast or have a high degree of difficulty, then this isn't the course for you. A few tee boxes are rock hard but all the greens were in very decent shape and putted true and consistent. I most enjoy this course as those that play here are not in a hurry and don't criticize others like they are on tour.
Great hometown muni course
I love playing at the pines because it is 8 minutes from my home. I'm usually a 90's player, so I don't like to go to expensive courses as I feel I don't get my money's worth. Hopefully, I will improve and start playing them. But for now, $15 to play 18 holes with a cart is a great learning/improving tool for me!
Wet day
To be fair this was a few days after the “hurricane” passed through leaving it wet. Cant mow the grass with the ground being so wet so not really judging that. Price was good for the conditions. This place is nice for price when not soaked.
The Goat Ranch
I started playing on this course when it was still called the denham springs country club, for the price you can’t beat it. If you want to go out and hit some balls and have a good time on a budget this is the place for you. Yea it might look like the grounds crew is a heard of goats maintaining this course but for $10-$20 it can’t be beat
