Pass Christian Isles Golf Club
About
One of the oldest golf courses on the Gulf Coast, the Pass Christian Isles Golf Club is known for having very small greens, as were most courses designed in the early 1900s. It also has tree-lined fairways and strategically positioned water hazards. Water comes into play on six of the holes, which adds to the beauty of the layout.
Originally designed by Tom Bendelow in 1914, Pass Christian Isles Golf Club has undergone two major renovations (when it re-opened in 1952 and again in 2004), with painstaking efforts made to retain its turn-of-the-century charm. The 18-hole, par-72 course, measures 6,396 yards from the longest tees. The course rating is 70.1, with a slope rating of 124.
The golf course is rated one of the top 10 courses in South Mississippi. The 18th hole has been ranked one of the hardest holes in the state as well as the state's hardest finishing hole.

Fun practice day
Course definitely a bit rough around approach shots and fairways. Greens pretty good. Could be a beautiful course again and still not bad for fun practice round. Will come back.
Weekend Golf
The course is tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The fairways are in good shape and the greens weren’t bad. The clubhouse looks like it’s being renovated. Just needs signs telling people where to sign in. I basically had run off the back nine. Overall, enjoyable!
Don’t Sleep on this course.
Over the past few months I’ve seen vast improvements! This course after my first try this track I labeled it a never play again. I’m thrilled I gave it another shot; for the value it’s getting better and better. Well done to the crew who’s got this jewel starting to shine. Soon she’ll be the secret I only tell close friends.
See y’all soon!
18 on Tuesday
I guess I should have waited for grass to be cut. Rough very and lost numerous balls in fairways.
Great course for the money.
Can’t beat it for the money. The greens had a few bad spots, but a lot of courses I’ve played recently are having the same issues. Just get it close to the pin. 😊
Favorite Gulf Coast course
Love this place! Great layout, great selection of tee boxes and Staff is the friendliest! Great time!
Seen better greens in a salad
Greens sucked. Slow and ball bounced all over. Lot of bad spots on the greens and in the fairway. I liked the layout, but that course needs a lot of TLC. Staff was friendly. Thought it was stupid you had to give them your driver’s license to get a cart key and could get license back after turning in the key.
Good course, worth the price
We went on a Sunday, got a great deal. Course was not bad, greens for sure were a little slow and could use a little work but overall not a bad course. Not a top dollar course, but a great course for a weekend round of golf.
A little work to be good!
Course plays very friendly. Layout is good with only a few fairways that side by side. Greens are too shaggy to play. No roll without bouncing the ball around.
Do not recommend
Don’t go to the pass isles golf course, half the course was closed, and we still bought 2 tee times for 6 people to play for my bachelor party. The older gentleman in charge chased us down playing behind us and yelled and berated us because we were playing a “6 man team” and told us we couldn’t do it and had to split up. Keep in mind we bought 2 tee times so we’re could do a group of 3 and 3 but wanted to still enjoy our time out here. It’s a $30 course and we were treated so rudely and unprofessionally I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. I’ve been here multiple time but never again.
Get what you pay for.
I was pretty enthused to play an old course like this. Drove in from New Orleans with 3 buddy’s to play. Staff was friendly enough but distant due to Covid. Can’t blame them. I did ask about course conditions and she had no idea. She said she didn’t live there and couldn’t tell us if they had a lot of rain or not. We asked if it was cart path only and she said to check the sign...
Practice Green was in horrible shape. Which should of been the indication. It was a busy course. A lot of people out to play. Which I won’t complain as it’s nice to see people again. The tee boxes need work. Kind of patchy. But it’s still early in the season. Same for the fairways. They weren’t patchy but the grass seemed thin. A couple of southern rainstorms and sunshine should fix that. The real reason I am rating it so low is the greens. Patchy, sandy, and just really rough. These are some of the worst greens I’ve seen in a while. Just atrocious. The greens alone will take your birdie and turn it into a bogey in no time. I’d like to say a couple of the greens were nice but they really weren’t. That surprised me because normally you can count on 9 and 18 to be in fantastic shape. Not here.....
In summary if your a local this is a good place to bring a beginner. If your coming in from out of town you may want to pony up the extra $20-30 and try something else. I’ll try this course again next year and see if it’s any better.
Great course!
Excellent layout, and a wonderful group of people.
