The Grand Bear Golf Course

About
Unlike some Jack Nicklaus golf courses that have earned a reputation for being among the world's most difficult, mid- and high-handicappers stand a fighting chance at the Grand Bear Golf Course. Nicklaus offers wide fairways before the sprawling woods take over on either side, most bunkers aren't horribly steep, and greens generally have room in front to run a shot up. The winding Biloxi River helps build Grand Bear to a dramatic finish. The par-3 14th hole plays through a chute of woods to a green guarded by the river below that runs along diagonally, punishing hooked shots left short. After another par 3 on the 16th that plays with the river to the left, the 17th once again plays over the river on the drive, then parallel to the hole. The 18th hole plays long and uphill back toward the clubhouse.

Beautiful Jack's Course
Nice layout. Difficult for the average golfer but open fairways for those missed shots. Exceptional Par 3s. Very reasonable for the after 2pm golfer.
Always Awesome
Incredible course ! Literally out in the middle of nowhere! Always enjoy the deer when they run across the fairway!!
Great Course
The clubhouse is fantastic. The hamburgers are really good. Staff was beyond friendly. Course was great. Greens are tough. Ground was wet. We had 2 issues at the end and the staff were very helpful in the situations. Will play again!
Great Course
Great course. Friendly staff. Out of the way a bit, but I think that keeps the crowds down. Played in less than 3 1/2 hrs with a third of the holes being cart path only. Course in great shape.
So nice!
Nestled in a national forest this Jack Nicklaus course is worth the drive. 5 tee boxes and a great layout.
Try to clear the river on 17!
* the road to it is windy and fun. Bring your peppy cars!
Best source in SE LA and SW MS imo.
Great time at Grand Bear
The course is beautiful , in great condition, and affordable . I played from the senior black tees and was challenged but not over matched. The course has lots of interesting characteristics that you know The Bear designed, making this a very special course.
Great track
Very nice course and staff. Very fair, nice greens, fairways and tee boxes. No complaints other than my game. My wife rode along and there was no additional cart fee, very nice. Only small complaint was the section of the range that was open was getting pretty bare of grass.
Generous width and benign hazards make the course extremely playable, getting guests back to coastal casinos quickly to feed those slots.
The back nine is much more interesting, particularly the short par-4 13th, which offers excellent risk/reward value.
Keeps getting better
3rd Time I be played Grand Bear this year, and it keeps getting better! Love this course!
Awesome In every way
This is a true gem of a course and everything about it is pristine.
