Absolutely beautiful course
An extremely well kept course within a beautiful environment. And the price for 18 with a cart was very reasonable.
Very playable
First time playing this course. Drove over from Lake Havasu..about a 55 minute trip. Showed up about 40 minutes before our tee time..only to be informed of a frost delay. Front staff was very accommodating..not their fault for the frost delay. It gave us time to go have a coffee..a they would get us out in about an hour. Showed up again one hour later and was told we could go out next. 👍 The course is in good condition. A couple of fairways have some bald patches…but no big deal. Also 2 or 3 greens where a bit different..with patches of Bermuda..it looked like the overseed did not take…but again..no big deal. The final 3 holes are an awesome challenge…with elevation changes. I played the gold tees (6200 yds) ..while my wife was off the forward tees. Will definitely play here again.
Course is in poor condition
We live here and have played this course many times. The fairways are in pretty poor condition with missing grass in a lot of places. Also the the greens seem to have some sort of invasive grass species growing. The carts are in good conditions and the staff very friendly. We played on a day where there was about a 3 hour frost delay so our Tee time was pushed back a couple of hours. Thankfully we live close by.
Got there early guy at the counter said I was playing with other people I said fine.So I waited by the #1 tee watched a twosome and a single go in front of me.My tee time comes up I go ask the guys if they had the same time they said yes but they were going out as a five some they asked some other guy to play with them .A bunch of locals so I decided to call it a day and leave the place is a joke
Slogging
4-some in front of us was soooo slow. 6-7 shots each. Really? They let a single go through in front of us, but we got stuck. We quit after 13.5 holes and 3.5+hours. I’m not the best, but i know courtesy.
Under Construction
Overall is low as they had 7 greens under construction and aerated greens on several more. Will be great in about 1 month.
Good value...
Course is is pretty good condition overall, some dead spots through the fairway but it's April so to be expected but greens were excellent, ran true for the most part. Some greens were slower than normal, some faster. Not sure any were as fast as the practice green however.
Fairways in good shape, rough was the norm, not thick or heavy but enough to change shots.
As far as the bar, food smelled good but I didn't eat... HOWEVER, $8 for a beer & $7 for a crown/ginger is absolutely spectacular in these times. I'd play the course again just for the cheap drinks albeit I generally don't drink but 1 or 2 til the back 9.
The 1 big upside or downside is the wind. Not sure if it's daily in Kingman or on the course like that but it was blowing like we lived in Chicago. I played the 1st 5 holes from the tips but after 5 holes of virtually dead into or cross winds sustained at like 25 & gusting to 40+ I moved back to the regular tees. A par 5 586 yard hole took me nutting a drive, 5 wood/5 wood & was still just short of the hole a few yards - not into the wind would've been driver/5wood/7iron id guess on a normal day or down wind...
Pace of play was kaput too, 5somes & newer players holding up play, didn't seem anyone was playing through but worth the value overall.
Always a Challenge
This course is always a challenge particularly if the wind is blowing. The greens can be tricky but true. The last three holes are a hoot.
The grill offers some good food at reasonable prices. Locals are lucky to have this course and visitors to the area should play it as well>
