About
One of Jim Fazio’s first solo projects, Riverchase is a surprisingly tough challenge given its lack of trees and relatively short length. The course runs through the bottomlands of the Elm Fork Trinity River and is loaded with water due to a chain of interconnecting lakes created to collect heavy rains and irrigate the course. While there are no forced carries, water comes into play at least 12 holes, and out-of-bounds is a frequent concern because of the housing community that surrounds the course.
No. 5 is the most difficult rated hole–a long dogleg right par 4 that requires a solid tee shot to be in position to reach the green in two. The approach is long and uphill into a severely back-to-front sloping green with a lake on the right and out-of-bounds and bunkers on the left.
Two holes later, No. 7 is one of the toughest approaches in all of DFW. This hole plays due south into the prevailing wind, and the elevated green has a depth of only about 25 feet. Bunkers line the back, and the slope in front is significant. Ups and downs are difficult because of the slopes in the green. Take a look at the pin placement when you’re teeing off on No. 4.
The good news is that other than out-of-bounds, the course is mostly wide open, so you’ll generally have a shot if you just miss the fairway. The only thick spot for trees is along the creek on holes 14-16.
Getting there : Take the Belt Line exit off of 635 and drive north to MacArthur. Turn right (east) and drive to Riverchase Dr., where you’ll turn left. Look for the course on the right side of the road.

Poor Fairways, Nice Layout
The condition of the fairways a very poor. Huge cracks throughout, and hard dirt.

Below average
The cart path’s were hideous. The fairways hadn’t been watered in months, and I lost 2 balls that fell into gaping cracks in ground. Impossible to take a divot. It was as bad as I’ve ever seen. Greens were recently punched so they were very slow and didn’t roll true. Overall below average for the 60 bucks I paid. Hopefully the rain will get the fairways back on track.

Little bits slow rolls greens but looks like good to me and
needed improves around hole line(circle).

Not the course it used to be
Cart paths were a wreck. Due to drought some tee boxes and fairways were in rough shape which is understandable. I used to play here regularly around 2000 and this was a great course.

The bunkers are nearly unplayable. The cart paths were mostly broken concrete to the point we had a smoother ride driving on the fairway. There are large cracks in the fairway where the ball would nearly fall in, and the ground so dry it was like hitting off concrete. Very hot weather(100 degrees), no water was available on the course, and no ice chest was provided. The cart we used had several large burn holes in the upholstery, and it had to be the slowest cart I've ever used. The course could be a fun course if repaired/maintained a little better.

I used to play here all the time about 10 years ago and it was well maintained. This time around the greens were in pretty good condition but the fairways were not. The bunkers are nearly unplayable and most of them didn't even have a rake (if that tells you anything). The cart paths were all broken concrete and the wrought iron fence around the entire property was falling apart...some of it onto the course. If they put some effort and money into it could be nice again but wouldn't play there again until they do something.

Challenging course
Love the course layout. This is a challenging course with a few natural obstacles. Because of the drought there a couple of dry spots on The fairway with a ground starting to crack but the greens are good and fast.

A hotter it gets the worse it gets
Course is now thoroughly scorched and burned up the greens are the slowest greens I've ever played this time of year. The cart paths are brutal downright bone jarring. As I said in my last review it should literally be against the law not to have water stations on a Texas golf course in the middle of summer when it's above one hundred degrees every day. It's virtually impossible to get a tee into the ground on some tee boxes
