About
One of Jim Fazio’s first solo projects, Riverchase is a surprisingly tough challenge given its lack of trees and relatively short length. The course runs through the bottomlands of the Elm Fork Trinity River and is loaded with water due to a chain of interconnecting lakes created to collect heavy rains and irrigate the course. While there are no forced carries, water comes into play at least 12 holes, and out-of-bounds is a frequent concern because of the housing community that surrounds the course.
No. 5 is the most difficult rated hole–a long dogleg right par 4 that requires a solid tee shot to be in position to reach the green in two. The approach is long and uphill into a severely back-to-front sloping green with a lake on the right and out-of-bounds and bunkers on the left.
Two holes later, No. 7 is one of the toughest approaches in all of DFW. This hole plays due south into the prevailing wind, and the elevated green has a depth of only about 25 feet. Bunkers line the back, and the slope in front is significant. Ups and downs are difficult because of the slopes in the green. Take a look at the pin placement when you’re teeing off on No. 4.
The good news is that other than out-of-bounds, the course is mostly wide open, so you’ll generally have a shot if you just miss the fairway. The only thick spot for trees is along the creek on holes 14-16.
Getting there : Take the Belt Line exit off of 635 and drive north to MacArthur. Turn right (east) and drive to Riverchase Dr., where you’ll turn left. Look for the course on the right side of the road.

Mediocre
The course was in pretty good condition but some of the fairways are very close to the next whole so people were playing in front of us going the opposite direction often. The cart paths are dreadful. But for the price the course itself is pretty decent.

Solid course!
Solid course, great layout, friendly. However, it’s Texas. In June. It’s 100° outside- how do you not have water on course? And if you’re not going to, at least warn people beforehand. Also, side note, your bunkers are full of rocks.

Not bad for Riverchase
Course was in better than average condition for Riverchase, which is not a compliment. Fairways are not burned out, yet. Greens were the slowest greens I've played in ages. Some sand traps had sand, but most didn't. No water at any of the tee boxes, which should be illegal when it's over 100 degrees in the shade. Pace of play was very slow and there were no marshals to be seen on the course to even try to speed things up.

Good Course Bad Value
Hottest part of the day tee time for the same price as an 8AM tee time. No water on course (signs were posted in advance). Saw Bev. cart twice on 10 and 18...could just be bad luck. Deep hard and dry bunkers, couple of rough tee boxes. Greens were well kept and had nice elevation changes. Clubhouse pretty nice as well. Not a bad experience but honestly terrible value for the round considering the time of day and heat.

Only slight issues
The overall course quality was OK. The cart paths all need to be replaced. My son and I got to witness a fist fight on one of the holes so that was different. The pace of play was incredibly slow on the back nine. Enough so that three of the four quit leaving the last four holes playing single.

Easy if you can avoid all the water
The course is pretty easy if you can keep the ball in play off the tee. There is water on just about every hole. The fairways are in good shape, but the greens are VERY shaggy and slow. The cart paths are terribly cracked and cratered and it makes for a very bumpy round. Other than that, it is a good bang for your buck.

Overpriced for being so under kept
The layout is solid, a lot of water and some unique holes. However, the course is not in great shape and is in the price range of a lot of much nicer courses.
Won't play again unless I hear they have done some serious upkeep.
