Riverchase Golf Club

About
One of Jim Fazio’s first solo projects, Riverchase is a surprisingly tough challenge given its lack of trees and relatively short length. The course runs through the bottomlands of the Elm Fork Trinity River and is loaded with water due to a chain of interconnecting lakes created to collect heavy rains and irrigate the course. While there are no forced carries, water comes into play at least 12 holes, and out-of-bounds is a frequent concern because of the housing community that surrounds the course.
No. 5 is the most difficult rated hole–a long dogleg right par 4 that requires a solid tee shot to be in position to reach the green in two. The approach is long and uphill into a severely back-to-front sloping green with a lake on the right and out-of-bounds and bunkers on the left.
Two holes later, No. 7 is one of the toughest approaches in all of DFW. This hole plays due south into the prevailing wind, and the elevated green has a depth of only about 25 feet. Bunkers line the back, and the slope in front is significant. Ups and downs are difficult because of the slopes in the green. Take a look at the pin placement when you’re teeing off on No. 4.
The good news is that other than out-of-bounds, the course is mostly wide open, so you’ll generally have a shot if you just miss the fairway. The only thick spot for trees is along the creek on holes 14-16.
Getting there : Take the Belt Line exit off of 635 and drive north to MacArthur. Turn right (east) and drive to Riverchase Dr., where you’ll turn left. Look for the course on the right side of the road.

This course needs God’s help.
They should be paying people to play this swamp. Use your oldest clubs if you play it and a change of clothing.
Horrible especially for the price point
Look, this course plays like a $20 course and they charge you $80. There were multiple greens that had more sand than grass... on the green. The cart paths are so broken that it is actually better to drive on the grass. The pace of play was god awful. took me 5 hours as twosome and would wait up to 20 minutes on tee boxes. God awful experience and would not recommend.
Tee boxes over grown and cart path only most of the course dry no Marshall on the course bunker need sand very dry.
Not a fan
First time playing here. Won’t be coming back. Course was in rough shape, the cart path looks like an Oklahoma highway, and the greens were the length of rough.
Has potential
This course could be amazing, although it is very hard to find a 7:10 tee time for $75.00 for two people. My buddy showed up late as usual and they were able to move us up to 7:40 with no hiccups. Pace of play was phenomenal.
Just wear golf shoes that are water proof bc there are swamps on this course- even in the fairway.
Also the cart path should be a testing site for gold cart shocks. 🤯 bumpy and uneven as all get out!
Again, two golfers 7:40 am - $75.00 I feel like I got a pretty good deal.
Worst Course in DFW
Course sucked and the greens were so long and slow. All dirt in the fairway and golf carts were horrible. Would never pay to play here again.
Eh Not the Best
Courses in rough shape, especially given the rain that hit the night before.
There are three greens at least that are completely unplayable due to sand spot essentially like hitting through a bunker while putting.
Terrible Conditions. Bad Layout. Small Greens.
Conditions: In a time where every other course is coming into form with beautiful lush grass, this place struggles to grow it, especially on the greens which are the worst I’ve played in memory. It’s impressively bad.
Greens: They’re too small, bumpy, bare, inconsistent, and grown to different lengths on each hole with varying speeds. Hit a good shot? Should be on the green? Nope it’s 10 yards wide for some reason. Managed to hit the green? Say a quick prayer, close your eyes, and hope it bounces in. Better yet. Skip putting for the day and just roll dice with your buddies for the number of putts on each hole.
Layout: It’s bad. Too tight. Too much trouble. No redeeming factors unless you like looking at busy roads, driving ranges squeezing holes to 30 yards wide, or apartments lining fairways. I’ve had the pleasure of playing a lot of nice courses, some of which are very hard. There’s hard because of good design. And there’s hard because of bad design. This is the latter.
You should only play here if you can’t afford anything else (skipping a meal and going somewhere else would be preferable), or there’s no other option last minute and your best friends are going. I’d try to convince them to do something else. If there’s ANY other option, take it.
Great value
There was maybe 2-3 bad greens, the cart path was rough and it was muddy around the path but in texas rain is a blessing so we don’t complain about it. Fairways played great. Tough course with the water.
Good day
A couple of greens need some work and cart paths need a lot of work, but overall not bad.
