Good illustration of how tight this course plays. The 11th tee. Fairway not 20 yards wide. Forty foot elevation change to green. Miss the fairway and lose the ball. Photo submitted by BrandonWebb on 12/01/2017

Like a New Course
Same challenging course, better condition.
Golf
If you are a beginner in golf looking to have fun bang balls around, drink & have fun with friends this is a cheap & affordable course for you—
If your a competitive golfer and not someone who can hop out of the car and play 18 holes without practicing before your round I do not recommend this course.
I paid for range balls and could not hit anything but my sand wedge before play, the greens are surprisingly in great condition for a neighborhood golf course.
Majority of the holes are very tight easy to hit a good shot and have your ball under a leaf lost.
Some of the holes are a confusing lay out with weird shots—
T boxes are difficult to locate on some holes.
I give this course overall a 5 out of 10.
Clubhouse, Golf Carts, Greens— 9 out out of 10.
Fun
We play Heatherwood as often as we can because we get great rates. Today, the weather was beautiful and not many people on course when we played. The only downside was many of the tee boxes were under repair so didn’t always know where to tee up for ladies tee. The tee boxes we did use needed repair, as well. The fairways were great, as were the greens. The owners of Heatherwood are doing a great job getting the course in tip top shape. It is a diamond in the rough.
Tight Course
This was my first time playing Heatherwood. I enjoyed the time there. You can tell they are trying to improve the conditions. The greens and fairways were in good shape. This is a narrow course, with a lot of mature wooded areas and some areas that drop off into vegetation you won't be able to recover from. You can't just grip it and rip it here. You'll have to place your shots.
Awesome Course
This course is awesome !!
A little difficult, nice view.
Very nice layout.
It’s good to get out but...
It’s a good enough track. Extremely tight and unforgiving...so bring a lot of balls or your A game. Greens are in good shape but like the rest of the course it is hard and firm and not a lot holds.
Pace of play is terrible. Need a Marshall riding the course I’m busy days. 4 groups waiting to tee at the turn, don’t let guys get club sandwiches, have a turn menu hot days or ready made stuff. Better yet have a cart girl. Played the back 9 with 3 groups on the same hole (tee fwy green) everyone waiting on everyone.
I’m not a review guy
Wow. Do no play this course if you want to hit driver or have a putt roll more than 5 feet. Was very underwhelmed by this course. For $18 I guess I couldn’t expect much, but I will not be returning. Goofy target golf with poor poor greens.
This course is tight
Absolutely gorgeous. A well thought out track that winds through the Heatherwood housing development.
Rolling hills and bunkers make this a target golf course. No forgiveness off the fairway, many falloffs making lost balls common.
The greens are perfect and a handy short game needed to make your putts easier.
A confluence of skills are needs to negotiate this layout. Narrow shutes make the tee shot a bit scary.
I will play here every time I can. A great tour with great opportunity and disappointment.
Great course, the grill was just closed!
The staff was awesome. I just wish the grill was open.
Heatherwood is a challenge
The pro was great, the staff very friendly and helpful, the food looked great. Greens great, teeboxes great, fairways great. Sand traps left natural. Layout best for a cart. Course is narrow with natural rough guarding most fairways and greens. Enjoyed it all.
Great Course
Absolutely great course. I play it a few times a week and it’s always amazing. Recently the fairways were cut short in some spots. Also some players do not abide by standard pace of play rules by letting smaller faster groups play through and there is no course Marshall to enforce this. Other than that it’s amazing course and plays very well. Absolutely love it
The course is not near what it is made to look like in pictures. Very hilly and very narrow.
