Fun course
Played here for the first time. It's a long and narrow course with several blind shots. The greens have a lot of undulations and were a bit bumpy which made them tough. The elevation(6800ft)does help with the course length but it's still long. We had a foursome and enjoyed it here. Staff was friendly, pace of play was mostly fast til the last few holes. The practice area was nice. I would definitely play here again just not every week due to the difficulty. It was a mentally challenging course.
Worth an hour drive down from Denver
This is a fun and in place challenging course that has become an option when we want to drive a bit further from Denver and get a mini mountain course. Layout is good, Holes 9-12 are pretty hard to par and the back 9 in general is a bit tougher, weaving about. Scenic and fun
Terrible shap
Really, $55 for an terrible shape course. Fairways with dead grass, dirt, over watered sections that look like mush. Goose poop on three separate greens and no one to clean it off. How about the course Marshall do that. All’s greens need work. Very bumpy and some are beat up
A must play if you want a challenge
This course is one of the most challenging courses in the area. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel like you’re in a pro shop with some guys you would want to go out and play with. The pace of play is pretty quick, when compared with the difficulty of the course. Beautiful views of Pikes Peak and the gauntlet is no joke. Highly recommend this as one of the hidden gems in the Springs are. Can’t beat the value for some challenging, legit golf.
Great challenge
I have been a member at Antler Creek Golf Course for approx. 15 years. I have seen ups and downs with the course which is expected with the weather change in colorado. But the creek is one of the most challenging golf courses I have played, the lenght, wind and native areas make the golf course challenging and unforgiving. With that said i would like to respond to some of the reviews i have read. Its not the courses fault you did not play well, maybe you need some lessons. If you want a course that forgives bad golf go play a city municipal course. You can hit it all over the place and be fine (not at the creek). I know of golfers who have shot high scores and they still love the challenge so quit whining about a course that only the strong can survive. The staff at antler creek treat people like faimly and are professionals when it comes to customer service. Overall, the course is fine just play better golf its not for beginners or the faint at heart.
Fun and Challenging Course
Course is a fun play. Play here regularly and love the challenge. It has a good mixture of grip and rip holes and target golf. The reviews below are inaccurate and a 2.5 hour 9 is not horrible with COVID circumstances and social distancing guidelines. Over 7000 ft elevation so expect to play a club less.
Outstanding play for a great price
Really enjoyed this course, course was in great shape. Greens rolled really well. Definitely recommend playing this course.
Phenomenal
Course was in great shape! Played in 4 hours on a Saturday morning, which is great! Love this course will play again!
Won't be back
I used to play Antler all the time when the course looked like the pictures on Golf Advisor. Made my first trip there this year, and it will be my last. Not just for this year, probably forever.
My review is only based on the front nine, it took 2.5 hours to play and with three groups on #10 tee I decided to call it a day. I don't understand why it takes so long to play, they have cut down all the tall grass, and with the lack of rain, it's playing much easier than it did 4-5 years ago. What hurts is their lack of pairing people together. Ahead of us was foursome, twosome, twosome and us as a foursome. Wish the 2-balls would have paired up as every hole had a group on the green, one in fairway and two on the tee.
Course conditions are horrible, I haven't seen a course in this bad shape in years. I used to tell people it took until June/July for the greens to be nice, but it's September and there were areas missing grass, numerous dead areas and slow. They recently punched them, I doubt the holes will fill back in this year.
I don't think the bunkers have been touched all year. Rocks, weeds and lack of sand were normal. I was told the regular group of people that play there don't even plan in them - they move it from the bunker.
Fairways were hit or miss, some areas were nice but many of them had bare dirt patches. The rough seemed to have more weeds than grass.
It's almost like they are just watering enough to keep it somewhat green. No fertilizer, no weed killer...no overseeding the fairways.. Maintenance that you would expect to occur when you're paying $65 for a weekend round.
Beverage cart was out, staff very polite - but that isn't enough to make me want to play here again. This course has gone downhill, and makes me wonder how much longer it will be around. I'd rather spend my money and time somewhere else.
Poor shape.
Course has been in bad shape for the past few years. I play it a couple of times a year hoping the conditions will improve but they don’t. Greens and fairways have large areas where the grass never came in and this is September! Don’t waste your money.
Great day
course in good shape even with recent greens aeration. Not too windy today.
Antler Creek sucks!
I booked a tee time on golf now to save some money. Found a hot deal for a really good price and it included the cart. Got there went inside to pay and the guy told me that I would have to pay extra for the cart. I pulled out my phone and showed him where I made the reservation and it was a “hot deal” and it included the cart. He started arguing with me and became very rude and condescending. I went outside to check with my buddy and see if they still wanted to play there because now they were going to charge us extra for the carts. My friend said that as long as we were there we could go ahead and play there but this would be the last time we would ever play here. Went back inside and paid the guy for the greens fees and the carts and we played. Course is in FAIR condition. Definitely not work what we had to pay though.
BUYER BEWARE! Antler Creek is a rip-off!! Staff are very rude and the course definitely needs some work. Do yourself a favor and spend your money at a good course!
Course in very poor condition
It just doesn't seem like they care. Greens are patchy, fairways are in rough shape, and sand is like concrete. Wouldn't pay $20 to play this
This course is worth the trip down from Denver
I kept seeing this course listed on Golfnow but, being 1+ hour from Denver I always hesitated. When you pull into the parking lot, looks like an average track. The first few holes also pretty average and the greens are in a bit of rough shape but, we are in a drought after all. But then this course is fun, interesting, mysterious and you are never sure where you are going with lots of optical tricks. The back 9 is especially cool and worht the trip from Denver
Back Again
First time playing this course in a couple of years. It's the longest in Colorado and has some of the hardest holes, but it is fun to play even for an average golfer. There were a couple of deadpan areas, mostly around traps and the traps could use some attention. The greens were a little bumpy. But could not beat it for the GolfNow price.
Awesome Course
Had an awesome time, fairways were in decent shape. Greens were running a little bit slow. Outside of that I had a great time
No marshall
Course was in much better shape than a few months ago, but greens are still very slow and fairways are real spotty. Definitely not worth the general prices they are charging to play this course. Not real well maintained (tee boxes not mowed, etc.) Pace of play was pathetic - no marshalls on course! Can play much nicer courses in Pueblo and Pueblo West for quite a bit cheaper on T&Th's.
Listen to the reviews!!!
I had a buddy say that he tried to avoid the course if he could because the conditions were so poor. I assumed that the off course conditions weren’t kept up , but boy was I wrong. This is the worst course I have played in Colorado by far. It’s as if the course hasn’t had any maintenance on the entire course is years.
Trust the warnings, unless you could care less on what type of course you play on.
The course has a ton of potential, but unfortunately this course if in too bad of shape for me to even consider coming back.
