Outstanding Colorado Golf!
First time Colorado golf vacation, and stayed at Flying Horse Lodge.
The North Course is brand new, and while the North Course clubhouse is really a mini-shop, you can 19th hole at the outstanding main lodge.
The course itself is breathtaking! Incredible views of Pikes Peak.
It's really a tale of both mountain golf and links/prairie style-play. 1/2 the course is forested with incredible elevation changes, and the middle 5 are more links-style and flat. Really a perfect setup for what I enjoy playing.
The course conditions were perfect as well. We came during a week with some rain, but you can tell that they maintained the greens during previous week+ dry spells.
Rough was mostly light fescue, but manageable with pretty wide fairways
Greens on the links side were perfect, however the forest greens had a bit too much undulation and challenge for an average golfer. Almost better to try and not be precise on approach shots and try to target placement when getting out of the myriad of bunkers. (At least for this high-handicapper)
An outstanding course and can't wait to return!
