Fair course for the money
Visiting Colorado for a week and looking for a good golf value. Unfortunately, Antler Creek isn’t it. The course isn’t in the greatest shape - especially the greens. We also encountered standing water in several fairways. We would agree that it’s a challenging course, but what made it most challenging was the lack of maps or hole layout signs on the tee boxes. We asked for a map in the clubhouse before playing and we were told that they don’t have maps (not even on the scorecards) because the course is “pretty easy to follow”. No disagreement there, but on the longer holes we had no idea where the greens were. Kept us guessing. With so many other good courses in the area, we won’t be playing this one again in the future.
How to ruin a good golf course.
I used to be a member and drove an hour 3 times a week to play. Good course, dificult to very difficult if you played the wrong tees. I played it yesterday for probably the third time in the last 5 years. The course has gone downhill and yesterday I would have not played and asked for my money back except it was our mens traveling group. The fairways were not the best but playable. Greens were atrocious. Bunkers even worse, Baked and crusty with weeds growing throughout. Our 4some was on the 7th tee when a larger mower came by and kicked dirt and weeds in our face. The temperature was in the mid 90's and no water on the course. All in all a poor experience. Needless to say our group of 20 won't be back.
Not worth your time or money!
I knew the course nay not be in great shape, but it was even worse then I expected. This was the third time I've played this course and the last. It's a shame too because the course is situated in a nice neighborhood with views.
Course condition
This course is now (late July) in the same sad condition that other area courses were in last Apr/May after a brutal winter. The other courses have returned to near normal, but this one has not. It looks like a death spiral where they can not afford to provide sufficient mnx, and noone wants to play here which would bring in the needed revenue. Could be wrong, but that is my somewhat trained eye assessment.
I was Warned
I was told that it was in extremely poor condition, and POOR would have been an improvement. Fairways tore apart, every green had fungus on it. Burnt tee boxes, sand traps with bacteria filled stagnant pond water.
Overall people were enjoying their time but it is WAY overpriced for what you get hands down the WORST golf course conditions Ive played in Colorado or pretty much anywhere.
Suggestion: Play elsewhere and save your money
Fee refund due to weather, thx………course in terrible condition!!! Will not return
Very poor conditions. Great layout. Used to be good.
I’ve never seen this course in this bad of shape. She have had plenty of rain this year so it should be much better than this.
Greens were really bad, fairways are rough as well. And play was horrendous. I have never played a 5 hr round of golf but there I did. I will never go back
Home course—sad story
Being raised in Colorado Springs, Antler Creek has always struggled—but it’s really bad now. I live 2 blocks from the course and keep giving it a chance but this is the worst it’s been, ever. Greens are beyond bumpy, I found one fairway with decent grass, and tee boxes are overrun by weeds and divots.
I’m not sure if it’s lack of money or management, but it’s sad. I want to play it more often but it’s not worth even a hot deal.
Poor conditipns
Just a poorly maintained course. Greens and fringe had it the worst, balls jumping all over the place and it’s a mixture of green and weeds, just all cut to the same length. Spend the extra $15-20 and go somewhere else
With all the rain should be in much better shape
I really like the layout but the course conditions are not great Used to be in much better shape years ago. Yee boxes and greens need work and care for sure. Lots of drainage problems that need to be fixed.
Course conditions
The course is not in good conditions. The greens are in very poor shape and the excuse of winter and spring weather is a poor excuse. Been going down hill for the past 3 years. Fairways are not kept up and weeds everywhere. Tee boxes are fun if you like practice swing hitting dandelions!
Worst Golf Course in Colorado
If it were possible to rate this any lower, I would. THE WORST GOLF COURSE I HAVE EVER SEEN, LET ALONE PLAYED. This place should not be open for play.
DON'T WASTE TOUR MONEY!
Extreme disappointment is putting it mild. This course used to be one of my go to's visiting for several weeks during July, August and September. The conditions are so bad with greens that are covered in weeds and scarring. Can't get a straight roll or expect a read from 4 feet, too bumpy. The fairways are also covered with weeds ankle high. And thats where something was actually growing. Sand traps are clay and full of water. Don't know how mant years ago those stock pictures are but have to guess at least 10.
Unfortuantley family had already booked for Fathers day. What a rip off at $75 per person! Played early 9am ish. Apparently one of the first groups out had the the whole rest of the day so backed up that some quit after 9 and on the back 9 groups passed us to leave stating it was taking too long....at that point we were on 17 and already over 5 hours into the round. On 15 2 carts with employees drove by without stopping and yelled the group 3 up is the cause of the delay so get a beer...hmf...no cart girl. Absolutley the worst experience and will NEVER RETURN. 51/2 hour round RIDICULOUS! Especially first thing in the morning.
Obviously poorly managed with horric course conditions and staff that is unable to control pace of play or do anything about it. Your lack of attention more than likely is costing you big time as many will probably never return. What a way to ruin a day that otherwise should have been a fun day with dad and the kids and many others looking to enjoy a Sunday on the course.
My question is........what the heck are you doing with the money you take at the register?
Played KIngs Deer a few days later for a lot less and far superior conditions and in just under 4 hours.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!!!
