Copper Mill Golf Club

They did an excellent job of ensuring the carts were sanitized properly. We each had our own cart. Staff was friendly and course was in excellent condition.

Played this course twice last week. We have always loved the layout. The first time we have played here in a while because course had been in really bad shape. Someone suggested we try it out. The first day we played the greens were looking better than they have in some time, but really slow. We were told they were to cut them down. We went back a few days later and I don't think they had cut them since our last time!! Maybe they are scared to get them where they need to be to make a putt.

Played today for the 1st time and shot 104. My avg is 94. This was my 3rd course in 3 straight days. Course was nice and definitely plan on coming bk to get my revenge on it lol.

Haven't played Copper Mill in longer than I should have let happen... life gets in the way sometimes. My first impression is you can tell that their hard work is starting to pay off. The course has had trouble in the past with fungus on the greens, ownership changes, etc. But through it all... and now that they are part of BCG... you can tell they are starting the trend in the right direction. I had great lies in the fairway, challenging lies in the rough, some greens had a browner tint while others were green as you could expect as we head into spring, still they were very receptive and even rolled nicely. I just wish more golfers would cognizant about fixing their own pitch marks.

If you are looking for a great challenge... this place has it. Augusta National may have Amen Corner, Copper Mill has what I call The Devil's Corner - holes 12, 13, and 14... a LONG par 5 with water down the left and OB right, a par 3 with water short, left, and behind the green and OB right, and a shorter par 5 with a marsh area to carry on your second shot and water left of the green. If you get out of this stretch with three pars, don't look back... be happy and keep moving.

Now for what some will say is the bad. There are many bunkers that still need work. You can tell in some, drainage projects were started but not completed, others have overgrowth in them. For me, it didn't detract from the condition of the course. I don't play a course because the bunkers are pristine. I also don't aim for them so they shouldn't come into play.

I will be back to Copper Mill and will recommend others to give it a try. In order for any golf course to keep up appearances, they need paying players. Besides, I've had some of my best times on a golf course with friends at Copper Mill.

It was so disappointed the price was the same compare with Beaver but the Beaver is away better then Copper Mill, I am not recommended to go during winter or rain season

I was a victim of the floods of 2016 so I moved to Lafayette shortly after I had been about 4 yrs since I last played coppermill (the course was still young but was in great shape then)and I knew I was gonna only get better as the years past....and boy has it! I have played all the big dog courses (ie:country club of la,Baton Rouge country club not university club) and for my money it doesn’t get any better than coppermill (in my opinion) you have to hit golf shots here and you will use every club in the bag and the best layout around the greens are great(wish more people would fix there ball marks) i play everywhere in Baton Rouge but I want a good round or a good group game I’m going to coppermill

Copper Mill is fun and challenging, offering six par 5’s, 4’s, and 3’s. There is no driving range at the course and the putting green is small with no real chipping area. Overall, the course is good and was in great shape when I played. The green were rolling well and the grass was good, I just wish there was a better practice facility.

The length (it was long) and the mixture of par 3s was fun. I enjoyed it but you better get the book with hole diagrams on it! Fun course!

The booking of a tee time was a run around. They course repeated that they only accept tee times online and that did not know if they were going to have an opening on a weekday mid morning. The website had 30 open tee times before 1. No map of the course on the score card or hole signs. Saying all of this. This is a great course!!!

First time playing here and it was a nice course. No driving range and no Marshall to keep pace of play up. Overall an ok visit. Would probably play here again.

Course layout is awesome only wish that the conditions were better. Greens are not it good condition had a lot of dead spots. Would have thought that the golf course would have been up to par with Santa Maria, Beaver Creek, or Pelican Point.

The course has really come a long way in the last two years. Greens looking good with only a few bad spots but we have had a lot of rain this year hard to expect perfect. Always loved the layout. Some open fairways you can try to Rory it and some you better check up. Love it

Fun course to play but some holes lack yardage markers.
