Nice
Nice course not too far from Baton Rouge. As far as Brec courses, it's not quite as nice as Beaver Creek and not near as nice as Santa Maria. It is worth the drive and worth the extra money compared to Howell, Dumas, or Webb.
Course going downhill fast
Obviously the new ownership could care less about maintaining the golf course. Greens very slow, course unkept, no driving range (give you a bucket of PVC pipe to swing at to loosten up). Will not go back.
Swamp
The course was really wet and the sand traps had no sand and were full of rocks.
Thank you for visiting us recently and taking the time to submit a review. Unfortunately, the Capital Region has received an abundant amount of rain. Copper Mill received nearly 7 inches in June alone so the course had indeed been wetter than normal.
In terms of the sand traps, we understand that there are some challenges but we are looking at addressing the most utilized bunkers over the coming weeks as we continue to dry out.
Again, thank you for playing here at The Mill. I would hope that you would give us another shot, considering the issues the weather has caused throughout the area.
The greens
The greens were in pretty bad shape. Lots of grass missing and extremely bumpy. Other than that it was a good day.
Thank you for playing Copper Mill a few weeks back. I am glad to let you know that we have rebounded from the algae issues that plagued the golf course for a good bit of the spring. The greens have bounced back quite well.
I believe that you will be very pleased with the progress that has been made since your last visit. We will look forward to seeing you back out at The Mill soon!
Course slowly being neglected.
Fairways in fair condition, tee boxes ok, traps ok but some hard from lack of sand, Greens bumppy from inconsistent grass surfaces(looked as though sanded a couple of weeks ago but not all holes or bumps filled in as they should have been). Putts bounced all around, Rough and higher grass areas not maintained and Copper Mill no longer has a driving range to warm-up. Seeing all this, driving 40 miles to play, and with no on-line information of these conditions is very dishearting and cast doubt on my use of GolfNow for future bookings. This was once a beautiful golf course.
Thank you for playing here at Copper Mill a few weeks back. In terms of conditions, I am happy to report that our greens are back in good shape. We dealt with some algae issues throughout the spring, due to the heavy amount of rain the area had gotten from March through most of May.
The rough and native areas have also been able to be cut back a bit now that we have had some rain free days over the past weeks.
In terms of the driving range, that issue is still playing out with city officials and possibly even the court system. Unfortunately, we may not have a good answer for that in the immediate future.
Again, thank you for playing here at Copper Mill. I assure you that ownership and our maintenance staff is doing everything they can to return the golf course to the conditions that are expected. It has been a tough spring, but we are confident that you will be pleased with the progress that has been made since your last visit.
Bad Greens, everything else was fine
Other reviews mentioned the greens, I didn't believe them since Copper Mill has a good reputation. However, once I got there, I saw what they were talking about. The greens were fuzzy and had black spots in many places. We got a good deal though and the course layout was good. Staff was friendly, so we still had a good time.
Thank you for playing Copper Mill this past week. Unfortunately, we are dealing with some algae challenges due to the heavy amount of rain we have received this spring. We are actively addressing the issue with vertical mowing and top dressing. These techniques have shown positive results over the past week and we do expect these results to continue as we dry out and receive some sunshine and warmer weather.

Terrible shape
Greens were terrible.. Lots of mold and extremely bumpy. No sand in any of the bunkers.
Thank you for your comments. We have had an unusual amount of rain over the past few weeks and have been battling some algae issues recently. Our maintenance staff is on top of the issue, and we expect the greens to bounce back quickly, as we hit the spring growing season.

Good condition s
Course play was wet due to recent rains with minor drainage issues. Overall condition was good, greens were true / slow for obvious reasons. Play was medium slow, there is no Starter or Marshall to encourage golfers along. It appears the driving area is being reallocated for other use, so to hit a few balls before your round this exersise has been reduced to "birdieball" tubes.
Thank you for coming out this past weekend! You are correct, we have been dealing with the wrath of Mother Nature for the better part of the past few weeks, but the course had held it`s own.
In terms of pace of play, we always see our time raise a bit when we are cart path only. We are looking to add some Player Assistants for our weekends this year, so that should help quite a bit.

Fast greens fast play
Good course. Fairways needed some growth. Extremely fast greens

Copper Mill
Great course, driving range is now a warmup range with Birdie Balls because the range has been closed. Course is in great shape for being winter.

Winter conditions as expected. Inconsistency in bunkers.(amount of sand) Speed of play was good. Staff members were friendly & helpful.

course was in good condition considering it had been flooded only a few days previously.
greens ran true, and fairways had drained well and reasonably firm.
the layout here is very good and there are some interesting holes.
played off the copper tees, which was a good test for a teen handicap.
pretty scenery in a peaceful setting.
Great Value
The course was on great shape, there were attendants blowing off greens frequently. The greens are well maintained for the most part. I enjoy the change up of having six par 5s and 3s. The elevated greens on 9 and 18 are a treat for the eyes, with the trickle down water hazards/ falls. I would recommend this course to a friend.
Fast relaxing round
I found a good price on-line. Been several years since I've been here. Played early and ended up finishing in 3 hours. Course was in good shape - good grass on greens. Greens rolled even & true. Worth the 25 minute drive to get there from Prairieville.
This course requires all the shots
The course was in excellent condition and the pace of play was good - under 4 hours. The staff was very accommodating.
No boogies
This is a fun course to play. If you can't keep it in the fairway bring lots of balls. The rough is deep.
Don't hit off the fairways!
For the beginner this course offers no forgiveness. Had a couple hits that I could see landed just off the fairway yet still could not find. The rough just off the fairways is so thick that it is very hard to find your ball. Also, no map is supplied for course layout, hazards or just general pathways, and some of the holes it would have been nice since you can't see the fairway from the tee box. Thankfully I was playing with some friends that had played the course before and could help, otherwise I would have been lost on a few holes. On the up side the course is well maintained and has some pretty features that help distract you from being totally aggrivated. I would be willing to play this course again in the future when my game improves, just hope they put a course layout on the back of the score card or something.
Great day @ Coppermill ... Again
My father & I drove an about 1 1/2 hours to play Coppermill and the travel time was worth it. Great course & Great Staff !!!!
After our round, we eat @ The Palmetto Grill ..... has a GREAT burger & waffle fries.

Course could have been in better shape. Greens were pretty hard.
