Golfer Reviews
Pretty course, in good shape, needs additional yardage markers in fairways
Copper Mill is an above average course when compared to all courses in Louisiana. Overall the course is in good shape, some challenging holes but not unfair or frustrating to play. The course is in need of some yardage markers in the fairways. Constantly wondering just how far you are from the green and have to guess at a club selection. Nice assortment of holes and distances, wide open on most drives. Odd to start with a par five but just makes the course unique. Nice clubhouse/bar area to grab a bite and a beer after a round. Worth the trip to Zachary to play.
Seems easy, but is subtley difficult.
Love the 6 each par3's, par 4's and par 5's design. This gives you more opportunities to hit every club in your bag. A number of risk reward holes, a few easy holes and a few very difficult holes. Back nine is harder with both length and accuracy required most holes. Greens are above average fairways are lush. Don't hit it in the rough - Its real rough. Senior Green Fee at $30 is a bargain with golf now occaisionally beating that substantially.
Great layout and good greens. Overall B+
Overall a great course with some easy holes and some challenging holes.
Course is challenging if you haven't played before
This course has 6 par 5's, 6 par 3's and 6 par 4's making it to where you need to use every club in the bag.
One of Best Courses in the Baton Rouge Area.
Course was in very good shape. Speed of play was fine. Unique nature of holes was interesting and refreshing. Other courses should be designed like this one. Staff was a little cool. We felt like "outsiders", which we are, but the course is open to the public meaning the staff needs to treat paying visitors like customers. Service in the bar/grill was non-existent. After the round we waited and waited and waited for anyone to serve us - all we wanted was a couple of beers and hamburgers. We finally left and spent our money somewhere else. Bottom line - the golf is way above average for Baton Rouge.
Challenging but fair.
i have always enjoyed playing Copper Mill. it's challenging but yet fair and entertaining. I have a 14 handicap and I just barely can achieve my handicap. I expecially like the par 3's
Love the par 5's
Greens aren't the fastest but roll true
One of my favorite coarses in the area
Love the amenities; ice/water restroom station nice for Louisiana
Summer
