Great course, customer service exceptional
I am on staff at a Southern CA. semi private course near the ocean and I wish I could just move this course there...with the customer service people..
During my visit I played many courses being an ex-Memphian and remember this course when it first opened in the 1970's.
This is one of the best tracks I've played and I average 220 rounds per year.
I played this track with my wife, who just bumps the ball 135 yds down middle...
She loved it too. Pace of play was great.
Greens true and fast, fairways perfect and tough rough makes this course a real gem.
Kudos to Michele over there..she should get a raise in pay.
Great course for the money
For this time of year, stone bridge is in great shape, greens and fairways are nice. It's a great value getting a golfnow tee time and playing during the week. Gps in carts too
Nice course, good value
Course was in great shape. Greens were fast and smooth. Fairways gave perfect lies, and the rough was tall, but not impossible. I played the ball down each shot, and shot my handicap, with 4 birdies. Never lost a ball, which is good for me.
Great course for the money.
Stonebridge
Everything was fine except for the staff support. On a major holiday weekend there was only one person in the pro shop and none on the course - no starter, no marshalls! Three plus hours to play 9 holes! We left after 9! We were worn out from waiting!
great course to play in memphis when heat index below 100!
new carts with gps ranger finders and e-score card on board. fairways were in excellent shape. rough is thick. greens are good shape but challenging.
Stonebridge is a great track
I really like playing this course. It's a convenient location and the greens are in great shape. If or me anyway, it takes a lot of different clubs and I think the bunkers are well placed.
The course was in good condition.
Aside from my own mistakes, the only issue was that I ended up behind a group of six.
This is a good course for better than average players to enjoy a solid round of golf. It can require a little imagination in shot selection.
If I had been putting decently (42 total) and controlling my short irons, I would have enjoyed a really good round. Playing at a special rate softened my disappointment with my level of play. I will be returning for another round.
Fun layout
Course was in great shape. People on the course were very friendly.
Fairly decent afternoon
Friendly staff. Course was in average shape. Speed of play was good.
Very good value
Friendly and helpful staff and a beautiful day made this a great day of golf. Course is in good shape and greens were medium fast. Layout is a fair challenge.
Stonebridge
The day I played it was cart path only and the course was crowded which made the pace of play painfully slow.
The Worst Experience!
I don't get the hoopla about this course. It is so unorganized and way too crowded.
We had to start on the back nine, which was fine, but when we got to 10, there was a group of 2, a group of 4, and a single! Then the single, had to play in back of us, because he was on a business call, and the group in front of him was slow, looking for balls, drinking and so forth I imagine. Sloppy play, sloppy course, no organization, just by far a waist of time. And its got to be bad, when golf is a waist of time. I could have played a variety of places, yet my friend said lets play there because he doesn't get a chance to play there often and it was closer, And man did he regret it. This was the worst golf experience I've ever had. No exaggeration. Today was awful! I won't be back there any time soon.
Great COurse
Considering that it is midwinter, this course is in very good shape and will give you a good challenge. The staf is extremely friendly yet very professional and accommodating. Excellent driving range. The carts were very nice with full view GPS's. We will play this course again.
First time playing
Was only able to play the front nine because they had laid the tarps on the back nine due to cold weather coming in. I liked the course and staff was extremely friendly. My tee time was at 12:05pm, but they called me at 9am to informed the front nine would be open until 1:30pm, and if I wanted to cancel I could. They offer me the opportunity to come in early and play the front nine twice which I ended up doing. The course is a well maintain course and a easy course to get around. I would definitely keep on my list when I am in the Memphis area.
Fall Golf
Was a good weather day, course was in good/great shape under all the leaves. It is that time of year, but I know I lost 3 on the fairways and 4 or 5 more in the rough, I would normally had found.
Lucky day
I can't justify the pace of play. Played on a day the forecast called for rain. Basically had the course to myself and made it through 9 before the rain hit.
Really enjoyed the course.... Layout comes across as tight with the houses and all but it really has some width and forgivable spots.
GPS in carts is Really nice even better if you could've got off the cart paths.
Greens were very nice and super fast for the time of year. Last 4-5 holes were not as enjoyable as first 13... However the rain and my play factor in to that.
TOO many singles
Had four singles come through.
One was extrememly rude and was wearing a red jacket!
Old course- new look
Grew up coming to this course as a kid. This is the best shape I've seen every aspect of the club in. Green conditions, course conditions and clubhouse. Amazing. Becoming a regular here
Fantastic experience
This course was built as a country club in the late 1970's. I was the 48th member and eventually moved away from the Memphis area.
When I left, the course was a nice track, but several changes in ownership ruined this course.
I live in southern California now and play at least 5 times per week besides being on staff at a course there.
I was in Memphis visiting my daughter and decided to take a walk down memory lane.
What a fantastic ride it was..
First of all the staff was fantastic, better than my own staff in California.
The fairways rivaled anything I played on in Southern California.
The greens were awesome.
They were fast but held anything I threw at them.
The rough was rough.tough stuff.
The layout of the track itself changed somewhat but the integrity of the original architect remained intact.
I played 5 different courses during this trip to Memphis and Stonebridge was the best by a longshot.
I played from the tips one day, the blues the next and the white tees the following day.
No matter where I played from,, the course was fun.
The course was in immaculate condition and if you missed a fairway, you were penalized.
The electric carts' GPS were the same as the Ojai Valley Inn in Ojai, Ca.a high end resort.
The tress and views on this course were better than anything I played in Memphis.
If you are a guest in Memphis, do yourself a favor and play this course.
It looks like whoever owns this course is really doing a great job.
Most of all you will be appreciated and you will have fun.
I am a 66 year old 6 handicapper, golf addict and this was one of the best tracks I've played in the U.S.
Too bad it was part of a real estate development and located in Memphis, as this is definitely a "too good to be true" golf course for this market.
If this course was in LA or San Diego, the public would never see it except on TV.
Pick your tees carefully for the most fun and leave your ego at the door and you will enjoy your round.
The wrong set of tees will cost you.
Good Deal
Have played and enjoyed before. The course is in very good condition. Pace of play was slow, no marshal.
