Good sunny day!
Even with the rain during the week, the course was in good shape. The fairways were cut and the rough wasn’t bad. The greens still need some work. If there were a few marshals on the course, I might not have to fix so many ball marks.
Jay and Lionel Municipal Course was my first love when it came to golf
This is where I learned how to play golf. This is where a community of good people resides, not just in the staff but in the older and younger people that are there, who are just full of joy. The course is not a top-tier course but they give you what you pay for and more, which is a sense of belonging. Robin, one of the workers there, knows me by name and says hi to me every time that I walk in. I cannot express enough how important and happy that makes me feel. I shot at 93, which was not my best round but it wasn't my worst. It wasn't because of the course; it was because sometimes you're not playing your best. This is a course that everyone can use and it is well kept.
Best bang for buck
This course is your best bang for the buck in the area, the course is well maintained, greens were a little soft but looking really good, only a couple greens had some bare spots, ended up getting stuck behind a group of 3 kids, took a couple holes before I finally told them I’m playing through, other than that it was worth the 30 for the round
course review
THE GRASS ON THE GREENS WAS PRETTY THICK AND EFFECTED THE ROLL. FAIRWAY GRASS WAS ALL DRIED OUT FROM THE FREEZE.GOT BEHIND AN OLDER GROUP OF SIX WITH FOUR PLAYERS WALKING. NEVER EXPERIENCED THAT BEFORE OR HOPE TO EVER AGAIN. PAIRED UP WITH A GUY WALKING ON THE 14TH TEE AND WE HAD TO WAIT ON EVERY SHOT FOR THE REST OF THE ROUND. THE GUY I PAIRED WITH IS THE HEAD OF MAINTENANCE. HE MENTIONED THEY HAD A NEW GROUNDSKEEPER AND TO GIVE THE COURSE A FEW WEEKS. I LIVE JUST THREE BLOCKS AWAY AND CAN DRIVE BY TO VIEW NEARLY HALF OF THE GREENS TO CHECK THEIR PROGRESS
Nice course - Slow Play
Course conditions nice overall for a municipal. Fairways and tee boxes were in excellent shape. Greens weren’t to bad only a few holes that were a little rough. A lot of walkers, who wouldn’t let carts play through. Took over 2 hours to play front 9 with two people.
