Llano River Golf Course
About
Llano River Golf Course has the wonderful distinction of being laid out along the scenic Llano River, with beautiful views and great golf. This course should be a must-play anytime you’re touring through the immediate area.
In addition to the scenery, the most memorable feature of this course is the tiny, postage-stamp-sized greens that require pinpoint accuracy and a solid short game for pars. In fact, these well-manicured greens compare favorably to the tricky burial mound greens of Alpine and Marfa, and are surely some of the smallest targets in the state.
Mature trees line the fairways, and water hazards come into play on only three holes.
The best birdie opportunity is the short, par 5 13th hole, playing only 437 yards. Good golfers can get there in two and give it a roll at an eagle putt. The ender is talked about as the signature, a difficult 502-yard par 5 with out-of-bounds along the left as well as behind the green.
Getting there : In Llano turn left on the north side of the courthouse and head out to the course.

Great course
The course is laid out along the Llano river, with pretty open fairways. It offers several challenges or obstacles with every hole having large peacan and oak trees to navigate around. Around the greens has it's own challenges with what used to be bunkers that have been turned into added strokes when you find them. Highly recommend
Hard work is paying off
It is very obvious the hard work being put into this course. Thank you
Fun little course
They just switched the hole numberings, the old hole one is the new hole 10. I like it, it doesn’t feel so much like you are playing two different courses on the back front and back 9. The course is in pretty good shape for the season, I’ve seen the greens in better shape but they were still better than most the public courses around. We love coming out here and playing.
$40 can't complaib. Perhaps consider including small bucket of range balls with price.
More difficult than I expected, nice greens great value, kinda remote unless u live near
Great Course for Seniors and Value
I played here twice last week and had two of the most enjoyable rounds I've experienced this year. As an 85-year old, I really appreciated playing a course that requires accuracy and good putting more than driving distance. At only about 4500 yards from the gold or red tees, I could reach the par 4s with a driver and a 6- or 7-iron. The greens are small, but they hold approach shots well. And they putt true.
The course is scenic. Especially #17, a short par 3. The layout is a little tricky, but there's an accurate course map on the back of the score card.
You won't find a friendlier staff or a better value for your money.
Not a bad 18 hole golf course
Kept up pretty well, good looking golf course, hard to tell where to go to get to next tee, not laid out that well but overall enjoyed the golf course and would play again now that I know how to get through it.
Green greens
Beautiful course with river running beside the well maintained greens! Loved this course with great value.
fun place to play
Course was in good shape for a hot Texas summer day. Greens were soft and challenging.
Great people
Great easy going people no fuss! Locals are friendly
Price is great! Need to level out some of the tee boxes. Not a big deal tho. Makes it interesting. Best part…. No bunkers!!!
Nice course
Nice course, not to crowded, and a great value for a well kept course.
