Llano River Golf Course

About
Llano River Golf Course has the wonderful distinction of being laid out along the scenic Llano River, with beautiful views and great golf. This course should be a must-play anytime you’re touring through the immediate area.
In addition to the scenery, the most memorable feature of this course is the tiny, postage-stamp-sized greens that require pinpoint accuracy and a solid short game for pars. In fact, these well-manicured greens compare favorably to the tricky burial mound greens of Alpine and Marfa, and are surely some of the smallest targets in the state.
Mature trees line the fairways, and water hazards come into play on only three holes.
The best birdie opportunity is the short, par 5 13th hole, playing only 437 yards. Good golfers can get there in two and give it a roll at an eagle putt. The ender is talked about as the signature, a difficult 502-yard par 5 with out-of-bounds along the left as well as behind the green.
Getting there : In Llano turn left on the north side of the courthouse and head out to the course.

Beautiful scenery during golf at a great value.
Great find in central Texas. Friendly staff and beautiful views. Short but good control of your irons is required to stay out of trouble.
Wonderful Course
A friend told me about this course, and glad I gave it a shot. I played on a Sunday morning, and had a great day. The tee boxes and greens were in excellent shape, and had no problem hitting just about anywhere in the fairways. The only thing to be prepared for is there is not food other than snacks, so we are snacks and went to Cooper's afterwards. We will be back!
This a fun little course. The fairways and greens were well maintained and the river view is beautiful.
Will always play when I’m around!
Conditions are definitely improving as the warmer season come in. Few tee boxes not leveled but nothing too crazy. The changing slopes, thick brush and doglegs make it a great challenge. Simple hill country small town course. Great play!
This course can be a fun challenge
The course condition was in good shape. Most of the greens were well kept. However, there were a couple starting to show some fungus or bare spots.
I would like to see the cart paths in better shape.
Love this place
Play here all the time. Course is well maintained and staff is awesome. Beautiful stretch of the river along several holes. I play here every chance I get even though there is plenty of good courses closer to my house the extra drive is worth it.
Loved the course
It was challenging, and was not overbooked. Looking forward to going back.
