One of the nicest courses around BR if you’re not a CC member. Great fairways and layout. Greens are smooth with moderate pace.
Staff were excellent
Great Course, Friendly People
This was my first time playing Carter Plantation. I was very pleased and thoroughly enjoyed the course. The starting cart place is pretty cool as it is a pull-through cart place to enter the pro shop and snack bar / restaurant. Very nice especially in the 100 degree heat.
The course is well maintained. Kudos to the staff. Greens were very nice with lots of subtle slopes and undulations. The carts are great. The fairways were in very good shape without bare spots, but there were plenty of hills and undulations for challenging ball placements and stances. I highly recommend this off the beaten path very good and fun golf course.
Disappointed
I am from out of town, and was looking for a place to play around with my son. Several people said we should check out Carter plantation, so we gave it a whirl. The staff were friendly, and the cart service during the round came by three different times so, not bad! However, the bunkers were in terrible shape. The grass was completely overgrown over the bunker borders, and in most cases, the bunker itself was hard, packed mud. One time my ball flew into a bunker, and landed in a boot print at least an inch and a half deep, and it was hardened mud baked by the sun. So I just moved my ball out.
I would say the greens were OK., Not great, but OK
I wouldn’t say it was a bad experience, but I probably would not choose to go back on my own.
Great Course
Normally don't play Carter due to high green fees. Course was in great shape and Golf Now made it affordable.
Course is nice but SLOW play
Course is in great shape. Had three twosomes in front of our threesome. No idea why the didn’t join two of them together. All three were very slow. We had to wait 5-6 minutes on every shot. Round took right at 5 hours. Marshall was notified but seemed uninterested. Would play there again if we could get early morning first out tee time.
Rained out
It was rained out and I did not receive my refund from golf now !
Would Play Again
Course was in great shape with great facilities, and good track. Pace of play was a little slow for my liking but on pace per the course expectations. Greens were quick but honest, only issue we had was no cart availability upon arrival.
