Waited too long every holes!
We were wait over 5mins every hole. Greens are not true green and too bumpy. I am not recommending.
Great round at Redtail
I haven't been to Redtail in years. Over the past few years I heard nothing but terrible things. It is a local course for me and I figured I'd go play a round and see how it is for myself. First, I must say the layout is awesome, it has a lot of potential to be a great course. I would say the course conditions were above average for summer. This course does get a lot of play. Greens in playable shape, fairways green, bunkers were fluffy. The rough is obvious hard pan dried grass for watering reasons. My buddies and I kept joking around and asking ourselves, what's wrong with Redtail? Absolutely nothing! If you can keep your ball in play it's great, and the challenge is there. You wouldn't think you were in the city areas until you see Target and Dutch Bros. I have had a few slow rounds in the past, but we managed to play 18 in about 4 hours. Which was smooth pace for our group. They have a great practice facility also. I would definitely recommend this course. It's worth checking out for yourself.
Fun course!
Fun course with holes varying degree of difficulty. Some great options for pulling out driver. Greens were fast and a little dried out but it has been a hot summer. All staff is super helpful and friendly and they have amazing range and training facilities!
Horrible
Conditions were horrible might as well play on the street as it felt like the same thing. Pace of play was 3 hours for 9 holes. Do not recommend.
Pace of play soul crushing
Picture this, it’s a Weds morning, great weather, fairly inexpensive round thanks to golfnow, no one on the first tee box. But, once you make it to other second hole, foursome groups in carts one after the other playing terrible slow and BAD, stalling play. Finished nine even playing with two balls and chipping around and it still took 2.5 hours. Called it quits. Did I mention no one would let me play through?
So much potential
Great layout with a great staff. Course is not in good shape and it appears that they don’t water. Tee times are too close together so the pace is pretty slow.
Good value if you get the Hot deal tee time
The course is in fair condition. The layout is pretty challenging. Greens run pretty true, fairways aren't patchy, rough can be patchy, tee boxes are a little hairy, and sand is nice. Big driving range to warm up and two good size putting greens. Pace of play is abysmal. Easily 5 hour rounds on any day at anytime. Lot of people who have no business being on the course yet and people who should be playing from the upmost tees but don't because of ego.
A little disappointed
Fairways in bad condition. No such thing as a good lie there. Lots of overgrown clover too. Very disappointing. That said, decent greens, fairly fast.
Not great.
Really love the layout of the course with some challenging holes. It could be such a great course. Which is much needed on the west side. Staff is great and the pro shoo and range are excellent. Except not a good area for short game practice. Course is definitely not in great shape. Very unfortunate. But worth a play for sure. Hoping for the City of Portland to put more resources or please sell it to someone who will.
Redtail Golf Course
I enjoyed playing Redtail with my 20-year-old grandson. My experience there goes back to the Progress Downs days, so I was pleased to see it the greens in such condition. It's still early in the Oregon golf season and the greens should pick up pace in June-September. The only slight criticism is the fairway and rough areas with small white flowering weeds making it more difficult to find my ball. Yet, I recommend play there.
