Belle Terre Country Club
About
Belle Terre Country Club in La Place was carefully carved from the beautiful swamps of southeast Louisiana. The name, translated from French, means "beautiful land," a title that the terrain certainly lives up to. Pete Dye designed the golf course, utilizing the existing water features and mature trees to craft a layout that is both challenging and scenic. The back tees stretch to 6,849 yards, which will challenge the seasoned player while the forward tees make the course accessible for beginners. Water comes into play on 10 holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers. Belle Terre Country Club boasts a nice mix of holes that will test a variety of different skills, from long holes where you can grip it and rip it to short, tight holes that demand accuracy.

The hole was damaged an inch around the entire hole. This wasn’t the worst one but just one that I took a picture of after being disgusted. Photo submitted by u000004947912 on 06/13/2021

Emily's first time
Currently living in SC, home visiting family. Played here pre-Katrina, great layout, undergoing renovation at this time. Enjoyed a nice outing with my 13yr old granddaughter. Staff very accommodating, thank you.
Great impovement.
It has been about 20 years since I last played here during which time I had heard it went downhill. At $16, I had to give it a try. The condition of the core of the course (tees, fairways, and greens) were terrific. The sand traps are in the process of being worked on, better drainage and new sand. This Pete Dye course is on the way back. High recommendations. I know I will be back even at a higher price.
Nice smooth course
This course is easy to play, smooth greens, nice bounce fairways. Nice course. Will here play again.
cart paths
can be a great place to play - cart paths and grounds keeping needs to be improved
club house needs to be updated
Greens
The greens have recovered nice after last years hurricane. The salt tolerant grass has done well.
Good Value
The course is in good shape and it's not expensive.
A day in the life.
I enjoyed playing this golf course it was worth the money.
greens
the greens were a little slow, because they weren/t quite finish aereated.
Course play
Course was very sloppy which was understandable after the inch and a half of rain from two days before. The greens seemed in good condition
Other than the greens which are going to be redone, course is good.
The course is in nice condition despite the fact it's going to close for a couple of months to redo the greens and some upgrading. We were pleased with how well the fairways and bunkers are kept and general condition of it. It shows the owner is putting real interest and lots of finances into bringing it back to it's original condition. it's a pretty course with lots of challenging shots to be made from tee to green. Looking forward to it's reopening.
Terrible Greens
The firsl green was in terrible shape, got to the second hole same thing, all the greens were in bad shape.
Stooped in the restroom at the turn, there are sings posted in the restroom saying the course will be closed from July 10 through September for restoration of the greens.
Would have been nice to know this before booking and paying to play on a course were all the greens are in bad shape.
Good course, but poorly maintained.
The greens were awful. I could let it slide if it were due to drought or other harsh conditions. But there is another golf course less than a mile away, and their greens look great.
Greens are Bad, Fairways and Tee Boxes Perfect
The fairways and tee boxes were perfect, but the greens are just awful. I have played this course many times and was very dissapointed in this visit.
Very friendly staff.
Course was in very good shape and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Had booked for Sunday via GolfNow and came a day early (my mistake) and they let me play at the pre-paid GolfNow Hot deal rate.
Um...
Played as a twosome. Front 9 went super fast. Greens in terrible condition as other reviewers noted (sanded to almost unputtable). As we approach hole 10, the Marshall allows another twosome to tee off before us (and to boot, they were of the 50 yd zig-zag variety). If that wasn't enough to steam my man hood, as I am about to hit my 2nd shot on 10, a foursome blows past us and tees off on 11. At this point, I was in utter disbelief. After finishing hole 10, we drive back to golf course and complain to no avail and were left with no answers. Foursome turned back around to play 10 after 11. Will never play here again due to lack of etiquette and course conditions.
Bad Greens!!!
Don't play here if you value a quality putting surface. I'm no pro, but I want a relatively true roll. They're on the verge of losing many greens. Tough to save greens during a Louisiana summer. Be forewarned!
Nice layout, bad timing
Nice layout. Bad timing though. Greens were being sanded and it definitely had an effect on the roll of the ball. Other than that, nice track for the price I paid.
Greens in poor condition
They just sanded the green. If I had known that I would not have played.
Good course--good value.
We like Belle Terre, its a fair and fun golf course that is a nice value.
