Belle Terre Country Club
About
Belle Terre Country Club in La Place was carefully carved from the beautiful swamps of southeast Louisiana. The name, translated from French, means "beautiful land," a title that the terrain certainly lives up to. Pete Dye designed the golf course, utilizing the existing water features and mature trees to craft a layout that is both challenging and scenic. The back tees stretch to 6,849 yards, which will challenge the seasoned player while the forward tees make the course accessible for beginners. Water comes into play on 10 holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers. Belle Terre Country Club boasts a nice mix of holes that will test a variety of different skills, from long holes where you can grip it and rip it to short, tight holes that demand accuracy.

The hole was damaged an inch around the entire hole. This wasn’t the worst one but just one that I took a picture of after being disgusted. Photo submitted by u000004947912 on 06/13/2021

Great for an afternoon round
Course was in above average condition. Greens have subtle movement and were in very good shape. Nice bunkers and water comes into play on several holes, but not extreme. Staff very friendly. Looks like regulars play in the mornings so your best bet for a good paced round is in the afternoon.
Nice course
The course is in good condition and i recognize that they are spending to improve it further. Greens are in good shape and consistent. Lovely layout (Pete Dye design). Challenging without being intimidating. Staff is always friendly and helpful. As long as I can keep getting good deals on 18 holes I will continue to patronize Belle Terre Golf Club.
Great course Outside New Orleans
Second time playing here, and I will definitely be a repeat customer. The staff has been nice to me, and the facilities/course are in excellent shape.
nice course
Beautiful course
Very well kept up
Greens were in great shape
worth the trip
My first time here, excellent for the money. I played as a single and played the first nine with a very friendly member who played only nine, he made it quite pleasant. we played from the white tees. On the back nine I was kindly invited to join a twosome and played the back tees, a little harder for me but still very good. The conditions are fair and the greens are good. the beverage cart came by twice during the round. overall I had a great day and look forward to return.
Belle Terre CC
Belle Terre CC is a hidden gem located in a wonderful little town. As soon as I parked my car I could tell this was going to be a great experience. As soon as I walked into the golf shop, I was greeted with friendly, smiling faces who were willing to help me with whatever I needed. They mentioned that they were able to tee me off earlier if I wanted to do so. The head golf professional, Mr. Baker, is one of the nicest people I have ever encountered at a golf course. He showed me around the club house and answered any question that I had as well. The golf course has had some overhaul also recently. You can see how great the greens are as they were recently upgraded, along with the green side bunkers which looked really good! Overall, I had a wonderful time at Belle Terre and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to play golf at a great course in the N.O. metro area.
Good test of skill
This course has been in good condition 4/4 times I've played it. Good test of driving with several risk/reward par 4s. Water in play on 12--14 holes. It'll test a good player, but it's playable for a novice.
Very scenic layout with challenging but fair holes
I have not played Belle Terre in a few years and I have to say I was very skeptical after knowing the course went threw some issues just a short time ago. With that said, I was very pleased with the overall condition of the course. I will be back to play again and I would recommend it.
This course has fantastic greens
This is a real nice course. Great fairways, smooth greens and level tee boxes. The course is in great shape and a deal for what it cost to play. Play moved along good with no waiting anywhere on the course. I look forward to playing here again. A must play if your in the area..
this course is great
This is a pete dye course facilities are awesome staff is very friendly range balls included its a tough course from the tips and best of all it shows all of what Louisiana marshland has to offer i frequent this course because in my eyes its the best bang for your buck!
fast greens, well mantained
Staff was Great, greens were fast and firm. would come back and play again
Better bring your A game
Must use every club and shot in your game. Bring plenty of balls because water and out of bounds on nearly every hole. Fast greens. High handicappers should play the white tees.
Great value
Played for the first time and the course was is good shape. Great value for the price I got on Golf Now.
1st Time playing
For playing the first time, I was impressed. I will definitely return when near as I see the improvement that are posted on their website. Windy and hot while playing but moderate difficulty. Greens were good for the conditions.... healing from being punched a bit back. Worth a play! Need 150 yard confidence markers.... always a plus....
Too many players
I made my tee time for 10:00AM and when I arrived there were several other tee times for 10:00AM. This, along with cart path only, made for a slow round. I will go back to play but hope they do not over book the time.
Understanding????
Booked round with Golfnow. Arrived at course with uncertain weather conditions, this after a couple of days of occasional rain. Was informed that the course was "very wet, but we're letting you play if you want, cart path only". Due to a medical issue with my knee, which makes extensive walking very painful, I would not have played with these restriction. After speaking with both course and Golfnow representatives, I was given two options: 1) You can pay and play, or 2) You can pay and not play. This was not a fun round or golf. But as the staff in the Pro Shop said, "I just work here". Have enjoyed this course several times in the past, and will play again, just thought they were very uncooperative in this situation.
Great course
Have played this course many times over the years, played Saturday the course was wet as we had 5inches of rain during the week cart path only. Our club played Sunday and was in much better shape. If in New Orleans area check out this course it's worth playing.
Beautiful Course
Enjoyed the round. Course staff and restaurant staff were very professional and customer friendly. Unfortunately the weather was not cooperative. Temps stayed in the low 40s and our two-some ended up being the only golfers on the course for the day. We love the course and we will be back when the weather is warmer. The only negative was that several sand traps were being repaired. Maybe that's not a negative. :)
Bumnkers
some of the bunkers surrounding 4 of the greens were having drainage installed. They were basically just deep mud pits at the time and some heavy equipment tire tracks imbedded deep into the turf near and around the greens.
Overall the course was in good shape.
Good value fast pace
Enjoyed the round, greens good and quick, fairways nice. Need work on cart paths. They are rebuilding traps on the back. Staff was extra friendly.
We play many more times.
