Belle Terre Country Club
About
Belle Terre Country Club in La Place was carefully carved from the beautiful swamps of southeast Louisiana. The name, translated from French, means "beautiful land," a title that the terrain certainly lives up to. Pete Dye designed the golf course, utilizing the existing water features and mature trees to craft a layout that is both challenging and scenic. The back tees stretch to 6,849 yards, which will challenge the seasoned player while the forward tees make the course accessible for beginners. Water comes into play on 10 holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers. Belle Terre Country Club boasts a nice mix of holes that will test a variety of different skills, from long holes where you can grip it and rip it to short, tight holes that demand accuracy.

The hole was damaged an inch around the entire hole. This wasn’t the worst one but just one that I took a picture of after being disgusted. Photo submitted by u000004947912 on 06/13/2021

Greens are Bad, Fairways and Tee Boxes Perfect
The fairways and tee boxes were perfect, but the greens are just awful. I have played this course many times and was very dissapointed in this visit.
Very friendly staff.
Course was in very good shape and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Had booked for Sunday via GolfNow and came a day early (my mistake) and they let me play at the pre-paid GolfNow Hot deal rate.
Um...
Played as a twosome. Front 9 went super fast. Greens in terrible condition as other reviewers noted (sanded to almost unputtable). As we approach hole 10, the Marshall allows another twosome to tee off before us (and to boot, they were of the 50 yd zig-zag variety). If that wasn't enough to steam my man hood, as I am about to hit my 2nd shot on 10, a foursome blows past us and tees off on 11. At this point, I was in utter disbelief. After finishing hole 10, we drive back to golf course and complain to no avail and were left with no answers. Foursome turned back around to play 10 after 11. Will never play here again due to lack of etiquette and course conditions.
Bad Greens!!!
Don't play here if you value a quality putting surface. I'm no pro, but I want a relatively true roll. They're on the verge of losing many greens. Tough to save greens during a Louisiana summer. Be forewarned!
Nice layout, bad timing
Nice layout. Bad timing though. Greens were being sanded and it definitely had an effect on the roll of the ball. Other than that, nice track for the price I paid.
Greens in poor condition
They just sanded the green. If I had known that I would not have played.
Good course--good value.
We like Belle Terre, its a fair and fun golf course that is a nice value.
Great layout.
Great value for the money. Friendly staff. Close to the interstate. Great variety of holes.
Golf staff left even though I had a tee time.
Last Sunday I booked a tee time at 4pm for two people. As we show up we were greeted by a kitchen staff personnel that told us the staff had left a 2 hrs prior. Luckily I only had to pay the online processing fee of 4 dollars and not the full 60. So it wasn't a total loss. Totally put off about this course and its staff now.
Belle Terre Country Club
I saved about $10 using Golfnow at the last minute. the course was in good condition. it is only weeks after cold weather and lots of rain, i was impressed that the course was decently playable. the greens were a little slower than championship speed, but rolled true. with the greens in this condition you can just aim at the hole and hit the back of the cup with ease. this being my first time playing this course, i scored several strokes better than normal...in part thanks to the greens. one surprise was a 6' alligator in the water right near my ball that was hit a little right of the fairway. a 4' garfish accompanied him.
This course was in very bad shape and was nowhere close to worth the price to play.
Course was in poor shape greens were not even puttable. Ball bounced all the way to hole.
Swamped out
The course layout is well constructed with water and bunkering to get you in trouble if you do not strike the ball accurately.
Conditions the day played were swamped out. Standing water in every fairway, with water in most bunkers. Course should have been closed. I would like to play again in dry season.
Great track!
Belle Terre is one of my favorite courses in the area. The staff is always friendly, the greens roll well and there is always water at the water holes. The course itself can be challenging if you get ambitious. However, she gives you chances to recover if you have certain shots in your bag. If you are thinking of playing here...book it! You won't be dissappointed.
Belle Terre Oct 112
The course is decent but not spactacular. Would play here again. Traveling from Jackson MS to New Orleans LA found this course on line. Pace of play was exceptional. Enjoyed my round but course was just average.
Belle Terre is a challenging but fun course.
Belle Terre is a terrific course if you are looking for a challengebut also looking to have fun. Also, the layout is one of the best in the New Orleans Metro area.
