The Bluffs on Thompson Creek
About
The Bluffs on Thompson Creek enjoys a beautiful setting tucked away amid mature hardwood forests. Creeks freely meander throughout the golf course, interconnecting with the sparkling ponds that can be found throughout. The layout is an Arnold Palmer design that takes advantage of the hills, bluffs, and hollows of the varied landscape. You face uneven lies and a few blind shots thanks to the terrain but you'll also get scenic views of the surrounding area. Accuracy is important to have but it's not an overly punishing layout if you happen to be errant. The golf course has a challenging start with an uphill par 3 as the opening hole. Another memorable hole is the par-3 eighth, which features a 50-foot drop to the fairway below. It's both an intimidating and beautiful hole.

Beautiful
Excellent course a must play in this area!!
Might want to talk to a local before playing
Very nice self serve course. Not sure but got the feeling they really didn't want "Golf Now" players. It was a good rate but not the cheapest. Self serve course unless your a member. Parts of course were in very bad shape. Has not been manicured in a long while. No definition of rough or around the greens. Almost all the bunkers were hard pan & have not been worked in a while. Very little sand. The best part of the course were the greens! VERY nice, smooth, putted well & fast for this time of year. My guess is they get faster later in the year which is fine. In general course has great layout but looks like they are not spending any money on upkeep or help anywhere. Best thing is they sell to someone that can afford to make it nice.
Bluffs
Most scenic course in Louisiana.. Under new ownership and no doubt will be the best course around. Certainly a 4 out of 5 star course,
This course has great views
The course is well maintained. It is well worth the price and drive from Baton Rouge to play this course.
Worth the drive from Baton Rouge
First time to play this course and got a great deal on golf now. If you haven't played this course definitely take the time to drive out to it and play. A nice track and course is in very good condition. The rough is a little on the high side and an errant shot will take you awhile to find. The greens have lots of undulation in them, so you definitely want to put your ball on the right side of the hole. If you can play with someone that has played it or play a second round it would help with that. A few blind shots off the tees and hard to tell if you can be aggressive or lay up. The whole along the river are very scenic. 17 & 18 are by far the most picturesque and the view on the 17the tee box is the best.
Great course for the money!
Loved the course and the scenery along the river is beautiful!
best course I've ever played. loved it
Loved it. Will definitely be back. Haven't found anything comparable within 50 miles.
The Bluffington Report
Our 4-Some had a great time.

Played the Blue Tees
Negatives:
Rough too tall. Several times we used a full 5 minutes looking for balls that were only 3 feet off the fairway.
Created a 4:50 round of golf. We normally play in under 4 hours.
Positives:
Greens rolled excellent.
One of the few courses I have played that every hole could be a signature hole.
August Bluffs
Hot, fair amount of shade. Greens were excellent, very fast and consistent with only a few holes having bad areas. Fairways were pretty dry and hard but that's everywhere this time of year. Definitely would golf there again.
Great course
Hasn't rained in about 3weeks so was kind of dry. Overall the course was awesome. Can't wait to play it again
Hot Deal
Course was baked but still worth every penny. I see why it was rated one of the best public course in Louisiana. Take advantage of Golf Now hot deal if you can!
Good Condition
Haven't played here in a year, but the course was in good shape. Had a few issues with spots on the greens, but certainly did not take away from an enjoyable round. 17 and 18 are my favorite finishing holes that I've played. Highly recommend!
this course is relaxing
great to ride this course. the hills make it a challenge, but well worth the view.
What A Nice Surprise!
Wouldn't have expected that the 40 minute drive north of Baton Rouge would have have yielded a nice gem among the trees. Played it after multiple days of rain so it was cart path only and the range was closed but truly enjoyed the experience. Didn't even realize that it was an Arnold Palmer design until the day after. Liked the back nine a little better and the view on the 17th tee box was sweet. We will definitely go back if/when we are in the area!
it has great features and great lay out
lodging was great, love the course, a must play again soon.
Best Design in Town
The Arnold Palmer designed Bluffs is the best overall course deign in the area. The condition of the green surfaces was generally excellent ( with a few problem areas). They don't overseed so fairways are a little bare in January. Most fun in town and at reduced rates is a great value.
Very nice
I was passing through Baton Rouge Louisiana and I check golf now.com and found the bluffs I had heard about it before I knew it was nice and I was not disappointed.
