Grey Rock Golf Club

My first time to play this golf course and I was delighted at the layout of this course. The course allows real playability for all levels of golfers.

I look for to my next round at this Austin gem!

Beautifully kept, all ran smoothly, greens were in great shape. Would play again many times over.

I wish that my golf game was in as good of a condition as Grey Rock!

Our first time playing this course. It was cart path only which was mostly justified due to recent rains. It was our second day in a row of cart path only golf in Austin, so it was hard for us seniors to keep pace with our younger pairing. Course was interesting and challenging; we would definitely play here again.

The greens were in pretty good condition, albeit a bit slow to what my eye told me they would be rolling.

The check-in was the best part of the overall experience. The pro staff treated me professionally and welcomed to me to their course. From there it went straight downhill. I chose the course because it gave me enough time to play and catch a flight. For $96 bucks I expected much more. And I believe they even have a higher rate without GolfNow.

I was overwhelmed with a few things. Number one. Cartpath only. I would not have played anywhere for $100 to stay on the cart path. It totally minimized the fact that the carts had rangefinders built in. When I asked if I could get an individual cart since there were at least 40 carts sitting, unused, I was told no. Although I had a special circumstance to get to the airport in time, I was told using an additional cart would damage the course. Hmmmm. I was wondering how a person can damage the course while sitting in a cart on the cart path. With car path only I thought my idea would speed up play since individuals could go directly to the path near their ball and not have to wait for their cart mate. I was guaranteed to finish in four hours and 10 minutes which I thought would mitigate my issues. Of course, the round took closer to five hours which meant I had to leave prior to finishing 18.

So if you’re willing to pay $100 for 16 holes and drive on the cart path only, this course is for you.

First tee is about a mile away from the club house. The signage around the course is not very good especially if you’ve never played there before. For some reason the course was cartpath only that day and the pace of play suffered because of that.

It is cart path only for the entire course. They don't have water and the course is very dry. They don't tell you this when booking. They need rain and I will not be going back anytime soon. I do like the course but hard conditions playing on rock hard surfaces.

I love this course. The greens are pure and extremely fast. The fairways are well maintained, the trees are manicured, the obstacles feel reasonably challenging. The layout feels consistent throughout and varied in interesting ways. Even details down to the location of the putting and chipping facilities with easy parking lot access is great. Amazing course. Reasonably priced especially if you grab a hot deal. I played here yesterday, Thursday, February 26 at 12:50pm with great weather for $67 a person with cart, free range balls to warm up, and a cart stocked with a GPS screen and 4 wooden tees. There are courses in the area that charge more for a far worse experience. Superintendent had us on cart path only because he is borderline neurotic about course conditions. I say that as a great compliment.

Played while visiting my son. He said it’s the best municipal he’s played and I was impressed. Great layout and almost all the holes are interesting to play and moderately difficult. Greens fast and true, fairways, tee boxes and bunkers in good condition. Staff very friendly and we had a cart and practice balls included. Would definitely recommend.

I was very pleased with the course. Given the fact the fairways were dormant, it still played well. The greens were in great shape. They rolled very consistently and true. It is definitely a course I would recommend. It was fun to get out and swing the clubs after facing a Minnesota winter the past 3 1/2 months. I enjoyed playing with a couple of the members. They were extremely friendly and fun to play with.

Entire course is in great shape from tee boxes to fairway to greens. Highly recommended!
