Stowe Country Club

About
Stowe Country Club, part of The Lodge at Spruce Peak's 36 holes of golf is located in the heart of New England’s premier skiing towns, but they do great golf as well, though. The golf course at Stowe Country Club boasts undulating fairways and well-maintained greens. Built on what was once a dairy farm, the course offers a challenging but approachable round of golf. And its panoramic mountain views are a delight for all golfers. For off-course activities, head into Stowe, which boasts a range of shopping, restaurants and other activities.

It was worth the hot deal price. I don’t think I would pay the regular fee to play the course.
First good weekend of the season.
Great Day
First Time at Course. Staff was friendly and accommodating, we had a 1:00 tee time and we were early hit some balls at the range which were included in price and they allowed us to go off early which was nice. We have had wet conditions around the area but this course was in great condition. I came home recommending this course to my friends and worth the drive.
Great track.
Greens were great. Pace of play fast 4 hour round with a slight rain delay. Lovely staff will definitely plan my again.
Great Course
Create course that has a grand background to every hole.
Very nice course...no carts!
Wow...what a scenic well maintained course...the greens roll true...loved it, but they are short on carts... you have to lug your bag up a hill to the range... then up another hill to the course...then you’ll get a cart at the last second if you’re lucky.
Great Course
Pro shop staff was very friendly. I was out in the first tee time so pace of play was not an issue. Course was in excellent condition. Greens were very quick and undulating which made putting a little difficult. Fairways were generous. Great practice range. Slightly pricey but its a resort course so its expected. I would definitely play here again.
Unique Set up - Fun Course
This course features more par 5s and par 3s than you typically see on a course which, in my opinion, makes it more fun and somewhat of a unique experience. You don't have to be extremely accurate off the tee but the greens can be a bit unforgiving - do your best to leave your ball under the hole. All around it is a great course and I would definitely recommend it to a friend!
Slow play
For the amount of money charged we should have had a better playing experience. We waited on nearly every shot and it took us 4 hours and 55 minutes to play. We never saw a ranger on the course to help move things along or explain why the pace was so poor. We will not be going back
Challenging
Overall, an excellent mountain course. Would recommend playing with someone who is familiar with it, when playing for the first time.
High Priced
This course is way over priced. At $125 per person, they could fix the cart paths.
Great conditions
Course was immaculate! Greens were fast and true. Fairways lush. An absolute pleasure.
Gorgeous Vermont Golf
Lucky enough to enjoy a round this morning at Stowe Country Club and loved every second of it. Gorgeous VT mountain views, excellent conditions throughout the course, friendly staff, and great food/beer at the restaurant. Highly recommend this course to anyone thinking about heading to the Northern, VT area. Check out the tee-box view on #3!
What drought? This course so well maintained
Played Stowe Country Club last week with six buddies as part of the 36 Holes of Stowe package (paired with 18 at Stowe Mountain Club). We had a phenomenal time.
First the staff: Couldn't have been nicer. We got caught up by a "rolling roadblock" (thanks Vermont!) so were cutting it close on our tee time, but they welcomed us without a care and even let us hit a quick bucket to work the roadtrip kinks out before getting us off the first tee.
Conditions: You would never know New England has a drought based on this course. It was incredibly green and beautiful. The rough was challenging but not impossible (luckily for me), and the greens were in tremendous shape.
Course: Much longer than its sister course on the mountain, but a bit more forgiving on the approach. The greens, however, were extremely challenging for us. They were fast with tons of movement, and had quite the impact on our scores.
Clubhouse: Beautiful bar and porch. We didn't stay long after our round because we wanted to check into our house, but could have easily spent the afternoon watching other foursomes finish up.
Very fun course
Great layout, and forgiving enough for even the casual player. The staff treats every guest like they are a member. Look forward to returning again and again.
Golf weekend
This is my third time attending a golf weekend at Stowe Country Club . The course was in excellent condition, the staff was overly accommodating and the pace of play allowed me to play comfortably. If you are looking for a course for a large group this is a good one.
Weekend Getaway
I have been going to Stowe Country Club on an annual weekend getaway with a group of 16 for the past 5+ years. Our group has a range of handicaps between 5 to 20+ and all of us enjoy the layout and challenge of the course. It isn't target golf and it isn't easy.
Since we have been playing at Stowe, the course has always is great condition. With the lack of rain in the Northeast, I expected to see it affect the course this year but it was in great shape.
Our contact, Josh and the whole staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. There are spectacular views and the locals/members are kind as well.
Mr. Garrity, Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry your experience was less than you had hoped. We strive to create an excellent playing experience for all of our guests.
