About
The Ranch course at Tonto Verde Golf Club is the newer one, this golf course designed exclusively by Gary Panks, who laid it out over 6,988 yards, upon which it has played host to several golf events at the professional and amateur level since it opened in 2002.
The Ranch golf course at the Tonto Verde Golf Club serves power golfers due to the distance, though it will certainly test those who golf a good short, thanks to big greens that are bunkered well and slope, too.
The Tonto Verde Golf Club offers stay-and-play packages for those who don't want to lodge themselves too far from the Peaks and Rancho golf courses. Pets are generally welcome, and the minimum stay is only three nights.

Very nice, but you better have hit your driver straight
Very good, solid course. Great condition. Challenging, but fair. With that said, you better hit the tee ball straight or it will make for a long day. Good greens.
Great Condition
Under 4 hours to complete, the course was in excellent condition, the surrounding area was great. The size of some of the cacti! Wow! Had a great time!
Course is in great condition
This course, the fairways and the greens, was in the best condition of any course I've played yet this year. Our only complaint was we were waiting sometimes up to 5 minutes on a tee box. I am not sure if this is the norm out there, or if we just had a really slow group in front of us. I think it may be the latter. The clubhouse is closed on Mondays so we didn't get there. We will definitely be back. We thought it would take a lot longer to get there and it's not that far. The scenery is gorgeous.
Outstanding golf course
Course was in excellent condition other than the greens being a little slow. Normally quite expensive but with the golf now price very reasonable.
Had meal in restaurant after and it was outstanding
Always a Wonderful Experience
My wife and I come out to the area every year around this time. We always incorporate at least one round at Tonto Verde. The course is always immaculate and the staff is there to make your day a real joy. The drive is definitely worth whatever you pay.
Nice staff - beautiful course
Pace of play was slow, but we were 2nd to last out. But no one came around to try and speed things up. Beverage cart finished early, so no certain service after 2:30 or so. Course needs to be marked a little better heading to a couple of holes, or maybe we all missed it?? Happy hour ends at 5:00, so if you play late, you miss it. However the course is in amazing shape and we really enjoyed it.
Course Management
Four (4) holes into the round our foursome encountered seven(7) women golfing together! Called the golf shop to seek intervention to no avail. Finally allowed to play through after two(2) additional holes. At the thirteen hole we encountered a women's college golf team with 3-4 foursomes that were taking up to 15-20 minutes per hole resulting in four(4) foursomes backed up behind them. We expressed our frustration to a "rude and insensitive golf team couch" who ignored our request to speed up play.
After the round the golf pro came out to apologize and the coach of the women's team continued with her rudeness and desire to completely misrepresent the situation. She said that" they paid as much as we did". HIGHLY UNLIKELY!!!
Although we enjoyed the course in the past with no problems, this brings to light the need for more attention being paid to course/scheduling management, especially when there are two(2) 18 hole courses. It is inexcusable to have college golf teams playing to qualify for a tournament on a course, with members and playing guests trying to finish in a timely manner! NOT 5 1/2 -6 HOUR ROUNDS!
Ranch review
First time playing Tonte Verde played the Ranch 18 with 3 regulars. Nice course in excellent shape from tee to green including real sand in the bunkers. Would recommend to anyone but try and get a hot deal from Golf Now. Pace of play a little slow (4:15) due to a large number of member couples playing in front of us. Only other drawback is that the location is quite a bit out of town and would be quite a haul for anyone on the west side of the valley.
SHOT MY AGE
How can you not enjoy your day at Tonto Verde - Peaks when you shoot your age...Great golf course, fairways & greens perfect for this time of the year, and the weather was perfect.
Nice golf course
We have played both courses several times . Tee boxes for all levels . Great views . Always good condition . We always go back when in Scottsdale . Nice resturant and terrace
Nice course but long drive
Nice course and facility just a little too long a drive from the city.
Grip and Rip
Very disappointed with pace of play on front nine....almost took 2 3/4 hours because of allowing five somes playing in front of us. We placed a call to the pro shop regarding the slow play and the play of five some especially as busy as it was.
Pace did improve on the back nine.

Bar & Grill closed on Monday. When open, they look great. 18 hole putting course is fun warmup ,show up early!
