Much improved
They have done a ton of work on the course. It is in great shape, and has had some contouring done. It is in excellent shape now.
Sidetrip from Solheim
Excellent course, nicely paired with very pleasant local couple, Challenged enjoyed some holes very much
Convenient, but lacking...
I have played here many times years ago, but had forgotten they have no driving range. That is a problem.
Course was in terrible shape when we played earlier in 2024, but things have greatly improved.
Impressed by the staff, who all made the experience better.
A work in progress
Pros: Course is in very good condition after many improvements over the past few years. There's a snack bar between the 9th green and 10th tee, which is brilliant.
Cons: No drinking water anywhere on the course during the hottest summer ever, and the beverage cart only came by 1 time during front nine. The pace of play became brutally slow at No. 8-9, where there is water/OB in play for each tee shot and approach, then a 200 yard par 3 over water (No. 10) that completely stopped play and caused an enormous backup. We gave up and went home due to the slow play - recommend only playing this course during off-periods and bring your own beverages!
Course condition was horrible.
The course was in terrible shape, slow greens, and clearly nobody who plays there can repair a ball mark. I've never seen so much brown and burnt grass in an area like this. I'd expect that condition in Nevada or Arizona where there's no rain. It's a fun layout utilizing the space they have, but for $98, it's an absolute ripoff. $48 is where the price should be.
Penderbrook Golf Club,
Hello, we are sorry you feel that way but we feel as if the course is in great shape. Yes, the greens become slower when it is extremely hot because the length is grown out to withstand the hot temperatures and little water. During summer months, when the temperature is extremely hot and there is little rainfall, some areas of the course will become brown in color, but will turn green again with sufficient rainfall. During drought conditions, tees, fairways and greens take precedence when it comes to watering and other areas may turn brown.
We have done our research and feel our prices are set in line with the local market. There is nowhere in our local market you could find $48 for 18-holes with a cart on a Saturday.
Have a nice day

Great course, no water stations, bad service
The golf was awesome! Course was well maintained and both challenging and forgiving at times with plenty of water obstacles. There weren’t, however, any water refill stations anywhere along the 18 holes - not ideal conditions for the everlasting heatwaves we’ve found ourselves in. And I just found it a little ridiculous that I had to wait 20 min for a hot dog - meanwhile the bartender was apologizing to other customers for giving their order to another party - it all seemed a bit unprofessional but then again I was there for the golf and I do plan to be back again.

Great transformation!
Penderbrook has undergone a great transformation! The improvements and upgrades are excellent! The two of the Par 3’s are a bit too short but they create a new challenge for sure! The course is in excellent condition!

Penderbrook Golf Club,
Thank you for taking time to review our course and we are glad you have noticed all the improvements we have made over the past couple of years.
As we take pace of play very seriously, we looked back at GPS cart data from the day you played and did notice that there were about 4 tee times that were slower than normal, at about 4:40-4:50 for the 18-holes, but on average for that day pace was at 4:28. Our pace of play is set at 4-hours, but on weekends we normally average around 4:25 with how busy weekends can get. We did have a ranger out that day who was trying to speed groups up, but if there are multiple groups in a row playing behind pace, it can be a very difficult task to get them all to speed up at once and it will impact the groups behind.
You are correct in saying that holes 8-10 play slower because of the forced water carries, and the halfway house. Normally on busy weekend days the front-9 takes about 2:20 and the back-9 takes about at 2:05. There is a sign stating this on the 8th tee in the hopes groups would see it and use the suggested drop areas closer to the greens and only stop at the halfway house for no longer than 5 minutes.
If you could please e-mail info@penderbrookgolfclub.com, we would like to discuss your visit further with you.
Have a great day!
