Twin Lakes - Lakes Course

No warning on GolfPass about aeration at the time of booking. The worst part of the aeration was that it involved the fairways and they left ALL of the aeration plugs (cylinders of soil) laying around. It was a minefield of plugs, affecting your ball’s rollout and general play from the fairways. No one in their right mind would pay full price knowing the greens and fairways are in these conditions.

Overall, the course was in very good shape. Played 7 AM on a Saturday and finished in just over four hours which was really good. The greens were in surprisingly good shape a little slow, but that’s OK by me. It’s a little pricey for a county course at 90+ dollars, but that’s the going rate so it is what it is.

I don’t know why but, Twin Lakes has never really been my 1st choice when considering a round of golf. I grew up around it, worked at it (only 18 hole course back then) and now play it about every month. It, whenever I play it I can’t find a reason not to play there the next time I tee it up…. Played a quick nine tonight and like most times, the course played great. Tee boxes, greens, fringe fairways and of course woods, were in great shape. I do remember a time that during the weekends with as much play as they get, the greens ran true but slow. Not this year!! They were receptive and quick. Kudos to the maintenance staff. Please keep it up!!

The rough grass is very long, lost multiple balls in the rough.

After almost 3" of rain in 2 days, the course was playable with almost no standing water. Greens in great shape. Price a little high.

Been here many times and always love playing either the lakes or the oaks course. Staff is friendly and courses are in great shape.

So I had a tee time at 4:40 PM. I chose to play 18 since I had a cart and figured I could get done in time. Evidently there was high school kids playing and the pace of play was very slow. I had to wait on every tee box.I had to stop after 11 holes because the cart had to be back to the clubhouse by 7:30 PM. Needless to say I wasn’t happy that the pace of play was so slow and I wasn’t even able to get in the 18 holes I paid for. Just be careful if you are playing later in the day because they don’t tell you that you at the pace of play will most likely not allow you to finish the 18 holes. Not even close. They should’ve told me upfront and only charged me for nine holes.

It looks like something has infected the grass causing it to die. A few holes have badly damaged greens and fairways. I played this course before and even last year; it was not like that. Very disappointed.

I have played Twin Lakes since before they had 36 holes and the club house was on another street. I have always enjoyed playing there. I have one major complaint this year!!! Cut the rough!! No excuses! Have whom ever does that to lower the blades and give us amateurs a chance at an enjoyable round. Cut the rough please. We’re not professionals and after a couple months of this we are pretty fed up with it.

First time playing it.. Challenging and not boring.. No complaints other than one green backs into range. If I was their lawyer there would be a net.
