Worth every second of the drive
Drove an hour to play the course for the second time. Somehow, probably due to a great greens keeping staff, Shenandoah has avoided the terrible conditions plaguing so many courses in the area. Plush fairways, true greens, interesting holes with MANY sloped fairways, and friendly people. Better conditions than courses twice the price. Got a little slow on the front so they switched us over to the other 9 for the back (there are three 9s). Finished in four! I’ll be back.
Great day as always
Really worth the drive from Chantilly (just drive with friends and it's a great day). Good weather and although we started a little late (no carts) we finished in 4 hours. Greens are holding and fairways are good. Love all the 9-hole course(s) so you can get a variety each time.... you can't beat the price on a weekend.
Playing amidst fires
Course is nice. But they had two burning fires that made it difficult to breath. An air quality alert should have been given to golfers before making a tee time.
Beautiful Day, VERY busy
Had a reservation for 1:16, but we couldn’t tee off until 1:45; staff was a little stressed. Surprisingly, the pace of play was excellent, and the course was in terrific shape. Will play again and would definitely recommend!
Extremely overbooked
Had a 1:00 tee time. Got there 30 minutes early. Went in the clubhouse and paid for my round. Went out and talked to the starter and was informed they ran out of carts at 9:30am. They were waiting for people to finish so they could send more out. Was told a 30 minute wait. Talked to a group that was waiting and they had been waiting 45 minutes and still didn’t have a cart. Was informed that sense there were no carts if anyone wanted to walk they could tee off. They had a push cart so a group of us tee off. That lasted until the #2 tee box. There was one group teeing off with another waiting after them. 5 plus hours late I finished my round. My main question is how do you run out of carts at 9:30? This place has three 9 holes courses. With them sending people out as fast as they could when everyone was making the turn it was a zoo. So I guess it’s pack as many golfers on the course as possible. Will be hard for me to come back again.
Great
Fun layout, played red to white with a senior member tournament in front of us. We were never held up once. Green's were fantastic. We will be back to play again.
Very nice course
Really liked the course. Tee to green course in great shape. Very tight course with tree lined fairways. Not a lot of water hazards. Greens rolled very nice. True and relatively fast. Staff was very nice but the starter was not very friendly. He wasn't rude but just not friendly. Need to have some other procedure for check in. Someone else should give out cart keys other than starter. Creates log jam.
Even though I had already paid for all four players but starter would not give me 2nd key for cart because another player was not standing next to me. He was in the parking lot unloading clubs. I had to get back in line to get a 2nd key. Waited in line instead of getting chance to warm up. Also should not have carts right next to Red course tee box. Very distracting if you are on Red Course tee box. Just a suggestion. Get there at least 45 min early if you want to warm up. Enjoyed the course overall. Would play again but please change check-in procedure. Thanks.
Good time, but ....
Nice staff and the course was in good condition. Very good time on the course. As a first time player on the course, I was pleasantly surprised to play some holes, e.g. the 18th hole However, I was disappointed when I used the restroom — what a mess! They need to do a better job of keeping their facility clean and appealing.
Excellent as always
Great shape, pace of play and staff are amazing!!
Lots of fun
Course was in great shape, though there was a tournament going on the fact that there were 3 Nine's made the round a very enjoyable outing. There was even a Cart Girl on the course. First I've seen during the Pandemic!
Well Maintained And Challenging.
I invited my son-in-law and daughter to play with me during Father's Day weekend. The clubhouse staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. Pace of play was very good. Carts were cleaned and apparently sanitized, it continues to be a fun course to play with lots of variety. We, however, were cautious because few golfers and snack bar staff wore face coverings
Aeration alert, still a great place to play.
It looked as though the white 9 greens had been punched 2-3 weeks ago, almost fully recovered. The blue 9 didn't look like it he greens had been punched. Didn't play the red 9, so cannot comment on conditions.
Perfect conditions
Great course conditions n very player friendly course layout.
ShenValley Golf Red to Blue
Both 9's were in great shape. Tee boxes were healthy which has been a struggle recently for a lot of courses recently. Fairways were in good shape, rough was fair, and the greens putted true even though they were aerated recently. Overall a very pleasant experience. I will certainly be back to play real soon.
