Paid for 18, played 9
We expected to play 9 holes on different colors. 9 holes on Red, Blue & White. When we arrived they explained they had a tournament going on and we would have to play 9 holes on Red and again play the same 9 holes on Red again because blue and white holes were occupied by tournament players. Staff was very rude and made no exceptions. Neededless to say, we played the first 9 holes and went home even though we payed for 18 holes. Will not be playing here again.
A solid choice anytime
Played on a warm Winter day. Greens rolled true. The course was not too beat up, especially considering the windstorm that happened the week prior. Some trees were blown down, and some debris on the course, but didn't affect play. Looking forward to playing here during the season.
Affected by the last wind storm.
Was a good experience. The course had been affected by the extreme wind storm that came through earlier in the week. There were branches and pine tree debris everywhere even on the greens. A couple of teeing grounds were set forward in the rough. But we went out on time and didn’t see another group until we turned to the blue course. We lucked with the weather as it was supposed to be colder but was very pleasant.
excellent course
staff was courteous friendly course excellent condition
Great day for golf!!
Weather was brisk and breezy making the course a little busy but rate of play was fast. Course was in great condition for February. The staff have been busy removing a lot of dead trees.
Very unhappy round of golf
On thanks giving day our foursome decided to have a rounding. After 9 holes finished I have noticed staff came out of pro-shop and demanding that we had to finish our round in an hour or return the carts and walk to finish the round. So that he can go home. It was the most redicelous guy I have ever met. I would never book a round again in this course. No matte how good there fees are to play. I am very disappointed with the treatments that we get from the staff. Cheap course with Unprofessional cheap service.
Could have used a Marshall on the course
We have played this lovely course a number of times and we really enjoy it. Unfortunately on this day we caught up to a group of six players that slowed the pace of play to that of a snail. We had to wait on every shot as they were oblivious and too busy goofing off shaking each others carts, slamming on brakes etc. It would have been nice to have had a Marshall on the course, they should not allow a group of six to play.
Pace of play
So I loved the course. It was a beautiful day unfortunately I was behind a highschool tournament with this pace of play was horrible.
Great year round
For all of you year round golfers like myself, there is no finer place to play. With replay prices that are more than reasonable, you can enjoy all three nines.
Course Has Really Gone Down Hill
I have played Shenandoah Valley before but it had been a couple of years. The staff was fine. The greens were good, held well, and were mostly smooth. The issues for me were the fairways and the rough. The fairways were very thin. Many places there was little to no grass and very hard. The rough was just the opposite. It was very thick and the height was very inconsistent. There was no intermediate cut at all. You were either on the fairway or in deep rough. Weather here was been great with plenty of rain so the fairway condition kind of mystified me. I was very disappointed with the overall condition. It has deteriorated over the last several years. Also if you play here keep your head on a swivel. A lot of blind tee shots and the fairways are very close. One gentleman got hit in the head while we were there! There are better values in the immediate area.
What a treat!
An absolute favorite of mine. Great winter course as well, for those die hard golfers like myself. These three nines are always in tip-top shape. If you leave here without playing all three nines, you have done yourself a disservice.
Great as always
Played with buddy in under 4 hours. Conditions were fine. love this course
