Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club offers the traditional links course reminiscent of those found in the British Isles, situated amidst Virginia's horse country. The club gets its name from the land's former use, a raspberry field. The scenic terrain overlooks to Catoctin Mountains and there are still a few raspberry bushes dotting the course. By far the layout's most formidable challenges come from the deep, stacked pot bunkers that make it truly feel like a classic Scottish golf course. There are also water hazards on a few holes. The course's signature is the par-4 third hole, which is long but plays downhill all the way. The 10th hole, another par 4, is one of the toughest. The landing area is generous off the tee but there is a creek and pond to the left and fairway bunkers on the right.

Great deal, booked on Golf Now. Had a flat tire on the cart, and the staff was there so fast to take care of it. Great day of golf.

AWESOME!! Course in Northern Virginia.

A true GEM of a course. I'm in the process of playing at least 1 Course in every state. Originally I had planned to play another course in this area, but read some reviews regarding Raspberry Falls, I changed to play it. Best Decision. This course is very well manicured and maintained. The fairways and tee boxes were quite immaculate, but for me the greens are the best thing at this course, they are fast and roll true to the undulation, which is quite a lot. There are some blind shots, however not too many to affect your round. You definitely need an range finder on this course to help navigate certain shots. I teed off at 4:00 in the afternoon and completed my round at 7:45. So the pace of play was good, especially after our group got around a 3some who was taking their time. Course marshals could definitely help there. I am very happy that Raspberry Falls represents Virginia for my 50 state tour. Highly Recommend this course.

Great course, but super slow round

Took nearly 6 hours to play 18 holes mid afternoon on a Sunday. The twosome that got paired up with me and a friend even left after the 14th hole; it was that slow!

Great layout, Gary Player design. Some of the bunkers were still flooded (due to severe rain in the D.C. Area) the last two days.

Nice Course and Friendly Staff

My wife and I liked the course and practice area. We arrived and was immediately greeted by someone with a cart for our clubs. After checking in to the clubhouse, we hit the range and were happy to find a well-maintained practice area. Once our tee time was nearing, the starter came over and greeted us and let us know when we needed to be at the first tee. We stopped in to have lunch at the clubhouse and the food was well-prepared (typical clubhouse fare) - the onion rings were great!. All in all, we had a good time and will play it again!

Among The Very Best Anywhere

From the remarkable layout to the top-tier conditions, friendly and attentive staff, exceptional practice facilities, and a very reasonable price, there is no area in which Raspberry Falls does not excel.

This is a Gary Player design and there’s no doubt the legendary South African can design a great golf course. I’ve played nearly 1,500 different holes of various golf courses and Raspberry Falls holds four of my absolute favorites: the par-4 3rd, the par-5 11th, the par-3 13th, and the par-5 18th. There are several other features from other holes that I really love, especially the deep bunkering around many of the greens. With a relatively flat landscape, rolling undulations on the fairways and greens, tall native fescue on either side of many fairways, and numerous pot bunkers, the course has a Scottish links feel to it even if it plays nothing like one. Depending on which of the five tee boxes you choose you may have several forced carries, fairway bunkers, and bodies of water which may alter your club selection or aiming target.

Many golfers in this area have a strong opinion on courses built around housing developments, but apart from driving through one to get to the course, once you get on the course the houses are few and far between.

The maintenance crew at Raspberry Falls do a great job keeping the course in fantastic shape. I played on the hottest day of the year with the heat index well into triple digits and the course played beautifully. The greens were semi-fast with just enough break to make a long made putt satisfying. The course is very popular and gets heavy use, but even still the greens roll mostly smooth and there are signs encouraging everyone to repair ball marks, which is nice. The tee boxes were well kept and the rough was lush and even. Some of the bunkers had a different type of sand but none of them were particularly difficult to get out of despite the steep banks on many of them.

The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, only Westfields Golf Club in Clifton has a better one. There’s a starter, rangers, and cart attendants that even wipe your clubs down for you when you get to the 18th green, a nice touch.

The aforementioned facilities are truly exceptional with free range balls, a nice putting green, a separate chipping/pitching green complete with a large bunker, three dozen balls, and a ball collecting tool. The clubhouse is also really nice.

Pace of play is pretty good for this area and this style of course. I was actually the last scheduled tee time at 4pm and playing by myself it took me 16 holes to catch up to the next group. Maybe I just got lucky; it was very hot.

This course can be very expensive for a lot of people but the rack rates are very reasonable for the quality of the course and they do have some great GolfNow pricing, especially on short notice. I cannot recommend this course highly enough, it is a must-play for anyone within an hour of Leesburg--I drive two and it’s absolutely worth it!

worth the effort

Raspberry Falls is a GREAT course to play - the course is always in great condition, the layout and views are fantastic, it's challenging for all levels from all tees - it's a bit expensive to play each week (i got a special deal) but definitely worth it to play a few times during the season

Still Good

Used to live in the area and always enjoyed Raspberry Falls. It's been a couple years but is still a nice course to play.

It's a little pricey, but very much in line with upscale golf in the DC area on the weekend.

Greens had been punched some time back and were mostly healed but they were still bumpy. That's about it for the negatives on the course. Fairways and tees were in very good shape. So the course is in good shape but considering it's mid-April in Northern Virginia, I have to give course condition high marks.

The course layout is great. Spread out, but great. Not a fan of houses on a golf course but the houses here are so far removed from the golf course that none of them are in danger, even from the wildest golfer. And it is a beautiful track with scenic views...

Aerated Greens

It was disappointing to get to the course only to find out they had aerated the greens the week prior. There was no indication when I made the reservation nor when I checked in at the clubhouse. There was no discount provided either.

Fun course!

Fun course - greens are usually extremely fast but today were a tad slower than normal, and a little bumpy. Sand traps and fairways in great conditions. Rough is fine -- winter made it easier to hit thru trees/vegetation. Great practice range.

Great layout, beautiful spot. Cold and Windy the day we played . great variety of holes

My new favorite course. It was a cold windy day in the mid 40's when we ended. The staff was great.. Greens were fast but true. Played form the whites seeing it was our first time. Can't wait to play it again when the weather gets better and things start to blossom.
