Algonkian Golf Course

It's quite a good golf course except one thing, so many mosquitoes and gnats around some holes.

Played a late afternoon front nine from the white tees. Greens were slow, other than that it was good. Easy to lose a ball in the rough - not deep, not too hard to get out, but ball easily sets down in it. If you are not long off the tee you will hit long clubs to the greens. Have fun.

Had a great time here. Flew in from Cali and trying to get golf fix for the weekend. Worked wonderfully even without my original set of clubs. I recommend this for any who never tried this course before ..an absolute gem.

Never got disappointed playing Algonkian. The staff are always great to deal with. The course was the usual condition, with the first cut needing a bit of cutting, hard to look for golf ball even if have the general area of where it landed. Some tee boxes do need TLC. At the later half of back nine, seemed the pace of play slowed down where you see 3 groups in a hole. Other than that, all good over-all.

The good: nice open layout, plenty of drinking water on the course, good pace of play, trees near the driving range provide nice shade while warming up

The not so good: although the staff was nice to me, I witnessed the starter being a complete jerk to another golfer for no good reason. The other golfer put his bag on a cart that was between the golf shop and starter after paying. The starter lost his cool and rudely yelled at the golfer about checking in with him before grabbing a cart. A simple “hey, check in with me so I can assign you a cart” would have sufficed, but the starter must have needed to feel important. The rest of the staff was great.

Very pleasant experience and the track was in very good shape for a public course. Pace of play was perfect. Food n beverage selection and service post round needs work.

Course is in good shape. Greens are a bit slow for me. And lots of gnats.
