Played long!
Course was in very good condition. Greens running faster than expected, but rolled true. Great day, but steady winds made the course play long. It didn’t help that the shortest par 3 was180 yards from the white tees, Friendly ranger asked if pace was okay — it backed up a bit on Par 3 #12, but resumed decent pace soon after.

Overseeding issues
Staff were great but had we known the course was in this condition, we’d play elsewhere. Over-seeding to the point where the fairways and rough are indistinguishable. Not to mention the stench of the dead decaying doe around hole 14 that could be smelt from the “fairway”. Don’t like to complain but even the tee boxes hadn’t been mowed.
Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, the weather pattern over the past couple of weeks has worked against us and our overseeding process. Typically, the fairways would’ve been mowed by now but unfortunately the heavy rains last week prevented our golf maintenance team from mowing. We are drying out (as of 10/7) and should be able to resume normal mowing operations this week to elevate course conditions back to our standard. Cart
Recently you've changed your policy where one has to share their golf carts with strangers. As a woman I do not feel comfortable with this. Last time( it was 3 ttimes) I had to share a cart with a random man and It was a very uncomfortable experience. Other golf courses don't let strangers ride carts together.
Thank you for your review. We’re disappointed to hear your feedback, specifically that you felt you had an uncomfortable experience. Sharing golf carts amongst a group, whether the golfers know each other or not, is not a new policy and is a standard operating procedure at Algonkian. This is also a standard practice in the public golf industry. There may be occasions where you get a cart to yourself depending on the number of players in your group. If there’s an odd amount or no one else is paired with you at your tee time, you might be in a cart solo by default. But on most days, this is not the case.
When you purchase a riding round, you are guaranteed a seat in a golf cart and not the entire cart to yourself. This is due to the golf cart fleet size compared to the number of players on the course. On any given day, we may have 100-200+ golfers playing our course. It’s not possible for us to give every player their own cart so we must pair people together. There is an option to reserve a single cart for an additional fee, however, even this is not guaranteed on the busiest days (especially weekends). Our goal is to have access to as many players as possible on a given day. If we gave every player their own cart, we would run out of carts quickly and there wouldn’t be any carts left for players later in the day.
Again, we are disappointed to hear that you felt uncomfortable during your round. We strive to provide a welcoming and fun atmosphere for all golfers to enjoy the game. If you’d like to discuss this situation further, please reach out to the Golf Course Manager at 703-450-4655 x105.
Great conditions good value.
Course was in great shape. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is a good value for the money, $50. The conditions were great for the money. The fairways have grass all the way across and cut nicely. There is actually grass in the rough.

Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, and a good level of challenge for this beginner golfer. I also LOVE seeing the deer on the course 😂

Great course
Great local neighborhood course. The course is in really great shape, greens were so nice, fairways looked great and fluffy, almost like your ball gets teed up in the fairway. The price for this course is perfect. Greatest deal in the area! Staff is super friendly! and i can forget the driving range, the range has a lot of trees so there is natural shade. Overall a great course that is simple enough for beginners but challenging enough for even the most advanced player
