Great Course ... No Marshalls
Course was in great shape and round was good except for the World Team Match Play Competition going on with the foursome in front of us. They failed to recognize others were also on the course and with it a Marshall insight, it made for a very slow round.
The course was well cut. Greens were green and soft. The course looked good. My foursome had a very good time and were challenged well.
Great Walking Course
Course is in Top shape. Not a long course but perfect for me.
Excellent golf
Course is in great shape, best greens in all of NoVa. Great walking course too. Only drawback is the length, only 6200 from the tips, but still challenging.
Great conditions, bad pace of play
Fantastic green and course conditions. No starter (?) and no marshals made pace of play abysmal. In their defense, there was a frost delay but course was still backed up at 130 PM. People were just taking absolutely forever with no sense of when they could hit their next shot. Just took forever to play 18.
Windy and cold
Cold to start but cleared up. Not a course thing. A few wet areas were soggy but otherwise decent conditions. Greens were much faster but in good shape.
Nice Short Track
Had a lot of rain the night before but only a couple of holes were really wet. Greens fairways, tee boxes were all in good shape. New sand in most of the bunkers. Pace of play was about average for a busy Friday.
Decent Course - But no pace of play enforced..
Course is pretty decent, well kept, fairly easy to play. Too bad there is zero enforcement on pace of play, despite teeing off 35min late, the course was still extremely slow. We gave up after it took 5hrs to play 15 holes.
Herndon Centennial Golf
Great course
Great layout
Very walkable course
Friendly staff
Great price
Starter is terrible
couldn’t find the starter when we were trying to get a cart and did our when we were up because he was putting ! When we asked when we were supposed to tee off he got upset that we asked and continued to putt despite a 45 minute delay! Course is great but because of the starter it took us 7 hours to finish the course because everyone was right on top of each other. Love this course but we may not be back to play with the price there should be someone coherent sending out groups.
Best value in the area!
I’ve been playing at Herndon Centennial several times a year since the late 80’s and its a favorite of mine. When my home course at Belmont Country Club is closed on Mondays, Herndon Centennial is my 1st choice.
I didn’t rate staff or amenities, because during the pandemic, I haven’t had any experience with either.
