Friendlyy staff
Course conditions were good, pace of play was good and the staff were friendly.
Landings
pleasant course to play - not too challenging.
green fee structure is a little high for this type of course.
links course
This is a links course that is easy when the wind is calm, When the wind blows is becomes much more difficult. The wind was blowing today and caused several of my shots to drift out, come up short or drift into the rough. most times you cannot find the ball in the rough, I got lucky one.
Great shape!
My friend and I grabbed a 4:18pm Twilight special. Course is in perfect condition. We played 18 in 2.5 hours. I don't think pace is normally this quick but it was nice.
Qualitly Round of Golf
I always enjoy going to play this course. I always book it online because of the discount. The course is in very good shape and the ranger on course was great a keeping pace of play up and keeping golfers spread out.
Holy greens and pin placement
Course overview, tee boxes excellent, fairways short and thin for some very tight lies, rough was well maintained, green sides were very long...... And now finally........ The greens...... Rolled fast and smooth, but I'm not to sure the guy who designed them, played golf. I can tell you this, if you like challenging two tear greens, this is your course, not mine. I don't mind 4 or 5 greens to be extraordinary, but 15 of 18? It's def worth playing though, just sharpen ur wedge play and stick it close, very close!!!
Great Greens and other salad stuff!
The Landings at Spirit Golf Club is in excellent shape from tee to green. Well manicured fairways are a pleasure this time of year, fairly thick rough for April, but the greens! Oh My, the Greens!
Smooth, fast, huge and convoluted. The flatstick better be working well for you to score here.
I consider myself a better than average putter. Yesterday I 3 putted 4 times! Ugh! Can't wait to go back there this Saturday!
Nice course. Well maintained. Some interesting greens
We played in early Spring and the course was in much better condition than others in the area. The course was very well maintained for this time of year. It's flat with no water hazards but still interesting enough to keep your attention. It's a little pricey unless you find a deal on Golfnow.com like we did. Very nice practice facilities. If you haven't played the course I think it's worth giving a try.
Good course
Course is in great shape. Fastest, best greens in the area. Bunkers, especially in the fairway need to be racked & kept up by the staff.
Great course to bring clients/customers
Great price and won't lose a bunch of balls! No water on the course to worry about as well as no homes to hit. This is a great place to bring clients that might not be the best golfers. The greens are in great shape. Staff is really friendly. No real food at the turn...but your there to play golf not eat! I would go there again tomorrow.
Course is good all around course
It is just a great weekend course. Plays well, but given the value, can be slow with beginners. My only complaint is with the players of the course. If you are good enough to hit the green, then you should be able to fix your ball mark.
Great course/repairs needed ASAP
I love playing this course and usually book 10-15 rounds here each year. The complains I have with the course are that the cart paths are absolutely terrible! And with all the newer courses switching over to electric carts, I would love to see The Landings at Spirit do likewise (like the Missouri Bluffs). Also, I have played numerous rounds here after they have plugged the greens, which look like pegboard, and they still charge you FULL price for the round - that needs to be addressed ASAP! Otherwise, it is a great course.
huge greens
They have some of the biggest greens. They were in good condition, nice speed very entertaining. Will be playing again for sure!
Nice Links Style Course in STL Area
The Landings has a decent layout. It's a links style course that's right next to an airport. Some people may complain, but to me, watching planes take off as I play golf adds to the ambiance and experience of the round.
The course isn't necessarily what I'd call "easy" but definitely could be more challenging. I can't wait to play again after everything gets greener and they can add some teeth to the course.
My only complaint was that it seems that they left the flags in the cups for the entire winter and this has damaged all the holes and will require some fixing in the near future.
I always enjoy playing the Landings and hope they keep prices realistic this summer to make it worthwhile to drive to Chesterfield valley.
Pricey for what you get
Pros: This course is right next to Spirit of Saint Louis airport. It's very cool to watch jets and prop planes taking off and landing while you're waiting on players ahead of you. I enjoy all of the small hills that line the course. Many of the greens are multi-level.
Cons: Cart path is a broken mess in many places. Staff is older and not as friendly as most other places I play. Cost is too high for what this course offers.
VEry enjoyable course to play.
For the average golfer this is a fine course to hone your skills. Fairways are always in good condition and tee boxes are usually swept clean. A good value for the money particularly when you book on GolfNow.com
In between the cold
Took advantage of a weather break to get in 18 holes at a great venue. Links style course with wind that was very playable considering the weekly temperatures had been below freezing. Greens held and fairways were in decent shape for winter golf. Enjoy this course because of the impact weather (e.g. wind) can play on shots. Had a great walk and played a good course that was open for us winter golfers.
