North at Whitmoor Country Club

I played in the Putts For Paws charity golf tournament. Whitmoor really knows how to run tournaments. Plenty of personnel at the bag area to help find your carts. They have these temporary numbers they put on top of the carts to really help you. The course rangers are some of the nicest people you will find and so helpful. The only recomendation is not to have anyone mowing at the time the tournament starts, where participants cannot hear the person talking.

I could not believe how good the greens were for mid-April. No issues on any green and they were extrememly smooth and fast. The fairways were already green for mid- April too.

The only issue I saw was some of the tees were thin and had brown areas.

It was quite a challenge, but it was a nice simple course. I love it. Five stars.

When I wrote my review last September 2023, Whitmoor Country stated they are on a 3-year agronomic plan. I can say I found nothing wrong with the conditions of the course. Nothing but improvements.

None of the greens had any bad spots. They were recently aerated but i think they will be spectacular this summer. They have that good color to them and they will be fast and smooth.

Found no problems with the fairways or the tee boxes.

They have done some cart path repair with using blacktop asphalt.

This course is the best at handling golf outings. They always have plenty of people at the bag drop, driving around the course, helping with directions, etc. The best thing they do is place the starting hole number on top of your cart. Makes it so easy to find your cart. They take these numbers off just before you head out to the holes.

The only negative I heard about the course from someone who hasn't played Whitmoor - no GPS or diagram to show how the holes flow.

When you get the chance to play a country club, you expect the conditions to be better than the public golf courses you play - which it is not. It is in great shape for a public course but not for a country club. Gateway National is in way better shape. Annbriar is another public course in better shape.

Most of the greens were smooth and had good speed. However, numerous greens with bad areas and showing some stress.

Tee box on hole 18 had dead, dry grass. The 4th fairway had some bad areas and a drainage issue.

Still fun to play but conditions are not up to country club standards.

I think the South course is more difficult than the North.

it starts off difficult on both sides, with 2 uphill par 4's, that have 3 tier greens. The 6th hole is the best hole on the course.

The entire course was in great shape. Greens rolled smooth with decent speed.

The North Course is easier than the South Course. It seemed shorter too, It was in good shape. Course seems to be over-watered. Stepped in sectios where mud went up over my shoe.

Many of the par 3's are uphill. Best hole is No, 2, the par 5.

When you play a country club, you expect the conditions to be better than some of the best public courses in the area - which it is not. Just to name a few, the public courses of Annbriar & Gateway National are in better shape than Whitmoor South.

The very first green (hole 1) is almost completely burned out. Overall, the greens are over watered. Many areas near the greens are soup and your ball will plug. With over watered greens, the greens become very marked up from the ball marks.

Not a fan of the 1st and 10th holes. Both par 4's uphill to greens that have 3 or 4 tiers. The par 3 (14th hole) is an ugly hole. Pointy mounds of grass behind the hole and about 5 small bunkers lined up in a row in front of the green.

The best hole is number 6. Drive to a plateau in the fairway which turns right, with a green nestled into the hillside.

The back nine of this course is quite difficult, at least for playing it the first time. Greens rolled very well and were fast, especially for time of year played. This is a fun course, great conditions and a great test!
