Blue Heron Golf Course
About
Blue Heron Golf Course, formerly known as Carnation Golf Course, first opened in 1967 but underwent a major renovation, in addition to the name change, after it was bought in 2011. Located in the Snoqualmie Valley, the course would occasionally be overrun by the Snoqualmie River but thanks to improved drainage and irrigation features added in the renovation, the course is able to drain remarkably fast. At just a few yards shy of 6,000 yards, Blue Heron G.C. is on the shorter side but that is no indication of its level of difficulty. Golfers will face a variety of challenges including an abundance of bunkers strategically placed throughout. One of the toughest holes is the par-5 17th, which is a blind tee shot where a long iron might come in more handy than a driver.

Get in the winter hardly anyone is out there
I scored a 88 with a birdie. I just think it is. a great course to practice in. It has all the shots to get better
Disappointing greens
Awesome course design but pretty lazy upkeep. Fairway played like the rough and greens were in terrible shape. Could be so much better.

Bad way to end the summer
I would give this course a 1-star if we didn’t have good experiences in the past. This last round, the course was in such bad condition that I actually tried to call and share feedback directly with a manager rather than rant on a review. I left a message with a nice gentleman on the phone who said I would get a call back, crickets. Never in any round of golf have I had to use two hands and lean in to put a tee into the ground at the tee box on most of 18 holes. The course was in rough shape with dead patches everywhere including the greens.
Unfortunately we went on the weekend, had to pay weekend rates for bad conditions, took over 5.5 hours in pace of play, and even had our cart die on the 11th hole. Would have normally shared thoughts right after the round, but we we’re late as we expected to be done an hour earlier.
Hopefully that course Management can recover the course this year.
Blue Heron is my practice course
I use Blue Heron to keep my tempo correct. I compete in the Willows Run Men’s Club from April to September. The restaurant and bar is excellent.
Course was closed
Drove 90 minutes to get to course only to find that the road to the course was closed and the course was flooded. I called the course prior to leaving my house and they said nothing about being closed
Great Value
I golfed on a weekday morning. Probably less than 30 people on the course. I was able to play by myself and played through a couple of courteous groups. Finished in a little less than 3 hours. The course is straightforward, narrow in parts, and short, but was in good condition due to rainfall over the last few weeks. The fairways, in particular, were very good--not the typical hardpan or weedy patches you often find in similar lower end public courses. The greens were super slow but mostly due to heavy dew. Got a good deal on GolfNow, although you have to pre-pay (i.e., no cancelations). Will definitely play again.
Fairly difficult fir beginners.
Scenery and interesting shots and hole layouts.
All in all fun course.
Good Value
Several short forced carries. The rough can be thick so keep it close to the fairways.

As growing golf enthusiasts, we love Blue Heron
My wife and I took up golf last year. We really love playing Blue Heron. The greens fees are reasonable. The course is interesting and challenging, without being as difficult as courses with tons of deep bunkers. We usually can play just the two of us, which is nice since we sometimes need to retake a shot. The area is beautiful and peaceful. We like this course.
