Link style
Not an average links style course. some moderate elevation changes. A fun course.
Great value
Coursed was in great shape and was a lot of fun to play. Value was exceptional.
30 plus index
NO GPS on carts! Yardage markers scarce. Course Good. Weather warmish. Windy.
Scenic course
I enjoyed playing this course, and that's what it's supposed to be, an enjoyable course. If you regularly play Normandie and then play The Links, you'll wonder how golf suddenly got so much easier:)
Short, mostly straight course with well tended greens. Bunkers looked good (didn't find out from experience), all around well maintained. This is a good course for getting together with friends and whacking the ball around, not a good test of your golf game
Great course but no GPS on the carts.
I was somewhat disappointed the carts did not come with the usual GPS--they had some issues and work was being done on them. Overall I was, as always, happy with the course and the staff.
SLOW PLAY
Had to leave after 13 holes. Wait every tee box and fairway. Pace was as slow as any full course scramble tournament I have ever played.
Gator plays Dardenne
Course is in fair shape but with their zoysia fairways still somewhat dormant made fore very tight lies. Greens are decent considering how early the season is. Pace of play was awesome and they kept it moving. There was no beverage cart and this course has NO refreshments at the half way (9-hole) mark. Once you leave the clubhouse you're out for 18 holes without a beverage cart…. Not very good service there but I know what I was getting into when i arrived ;-). This used to be a competitively priced course but seems a little pricey for the layout and level of quality. Overall, i enjoyed the experience
Not bad for early sping
cart paths were excellent and signage was good.
fairways brown, but thats to be expected. First cut of rough was more green and pretty decent. Greens were fast and in great shape. Tee boxes need some work, but it is spring.
Coming Around Nicely for Early Spring!!!!!
Zoisia Fairways still Dormant, but the Greens were freshly mown and rolling good. Carts were at 90 Degree off the paths. The pace of play was very good.
Nice Afternoon!
5 Groups on one hole....
Disappointing. That one word sums it all up.
By the time we got to the 5th hole, there were 5 groups there.
No marshal to move things along and apparently no etiquette in letting the faster players play thru. 3 Holes open ahead of the offending group.
When we got back to the clubhouse and complained, all they had to say was "Yea, we know it's slow, But we let all of our staff go"
This from a course that wants to charge $50 per round. Not for me, not anymore. I'll spend my $$$ elsewhere.
last minute, great value.
Greens recently aerated. Would love for courses to indicate information like this and also "cart path only" when booking. Hate to be surprised with these things when you get to course. Having said these negative things, this course is usually an enjoyable track, and it was today.
Enjoyed the course
Course was in good shape, considering that the greens were recently aerated. Fairways in excellent shape and bunkers maintained.
Good fairways.
The price I paid was good. I would have been very unhappy if I would have paid the $32 the other tee times showed. The greens were punched and a couple of them did not have sand in the holes. Golf courses should let you know when they have been worked on recently. Kind of late for this type of work.
Even though the price was good this was not a good golf day given the greens.
Links Style
My friend and I decided to try a new course and chose The Link at Dardennes. Fun course that was in decent shape.
PROS
Open format...not many trees
Challenging holes but still a chance to shoot well.
CONS
Greens were chewed up. In fact, before our round, we were asked to tend the ball marks on the green. I found that odd but when I went to the greens, I saw what he meant. Poor golf etiquette
I may go back but there are much better courses with lower green fees that I would consider.
Well maintained course but gets a lot of play.
The course is nice and very playable. Fairways are in excellent shape but the greens have a lot of ball marks from the amount of play the course gets. If there was one negative I would say they let too many people play instead of sticking to tee time reservations. I had a 9:33 tee time on a Tuesday and had to wait for 3 four somes to tee off before we got to go off. We waited at every hole and the round took over 4 and half hours too play, thankfully it was not hot. With Mid Rivers golf course closed there are fewer options in the St. Charles area to play golf.
A clean and kept course
Enjoyed 18 holes. Bunkers and greens well maintained. Would play this course again.
